Anyone picking up one of these Apocalypse boxes? I’m keeping my eye on my usual discount site to see if they go up for preorder, quite fancy that Ork box. Killa Kans are next to useless this edition but I adore the models for those and Deff Dreads, and SAG Meks are worth their weight in gold on the tabletop at the moment.

Tempted by Tyranids. I imagine they'd be quite suited to the new Contrast paints.

I’ve accumulated a fair few ‘nids/genestealers from various box sets over the last few years, probably 1000-1500 points worth. I’ve assembled them and boxed them but could never bring myself to either sell them or paints them so I think they’ll be a good test for contrast paints at some point in the future.

Looks like GW read your post, blew up the Warhammer world, birthed the Age of Sigmar and forged the Stormcast Eternals for you:

I'm also quite a fan of big cool looking monsters :D

 I'll probably get back into Age of Sigmar myself once the Beastclaw Raiders get a rules update. You generally don't need as many models to play Age of Sigmar compared to the last few years of Fantasy, which helps if you're into 40K too.

Ahhh they've brought back my gen2 paint scheme for the Apocalypse Tyranid shoots

Can someone clue me up on those new genestealers? They look like homogaunts but with genestealer heads - so genestelars with rending scythes rather than claws. I could probably mod a bunch of those as I have litearlly 30+ old style (3 piece) genestealers that would be immensely boring to paint all up.

I'm tempted by contrast paints just to finish a goddamn army... And then do highlights over the top. Basically just get all those crannies filled and focus my skills on the details, so each one doesn't take me 10+ hours.

Having all those titan-like models in one shoot is rad. I've got one Trygon I need to paint (it needs stripping - someone covered it with liquid green stuff).

I'm kind of glad they don't have any of the black spots the old models had. So that looks like a personal touch to my models now. I have those on even the smaller models where they seemingly couldn't be bothered to add them. I must post a pic of my latest, I'm pretty happy with it.

I'm getting the Knights box, which will join the normal knight i have to form my renegade knight formation. I'm looking forward to the proper chaos knights book giving them a bit more than a pamphlet-sized index for rules, relics and strategems.

I bought a castellan about two weeks before they showed that box, pretty gutted that I could’ve essentially had a couple of free helverins if I’d waited a little longer.

I always thought it was weird they didn’t chuck renegade rules in the Knights codex, it’s not exactly rammed with entries as it is.

I got the objective markers - they weren't cheap but are solid brass so will outlive me, plus i can use them for other games if possible. The funko is just a primaris one without paint - you could just get a normal one any day and respray it yourself for the same effect as the paint on them looks quite thin.
