I found out today that I am a descendant of Admiral Lord Hornby, a great Navy Admiral for the Queen and British fleet in the 1900's. He got a 15 year old girl pregnant who was my great great grandmother.

In 1797, Britain was embroiled in the French Revolutionary Wars, and Hornby's ship HMS Latona became caught up in the Nore Mutiny just weeks after he joined her.

He then commanded the Channel Fleet. Won the distinction of Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath. He returned home in 1880 with the character of being perhaps the most able commander on the active list of the navy.

Later, commanding his own sixth-rate HMS Volage in 1811, Hornby played a vital role in the British victory at the Battle of Lissa.

Awesome! So does anyone here know of their family tree? Are you related to anyone interesting?

I'm distantly realted to The British Bulldog AKA Davey Boy Smith. Well I was anyway.

I know nothing of my family history past my great grandparents, however i do know that i am directly descended from both Adam and Eve, the first 2 humans on this planet. I'm pretty sure that this trumps any famous family stories that u all may have 8-)

I don't know too much on my family history but I do know that my Grandad was in both World Wars. He was a sniper in the first one and went out with the Gurkhas once. In the Second World War he was on the rooftops here in London looking for planes.

I'm related to my Mummy and my Daddy. Well, my real Daddy, anyway. Not that fat prick who's porking Mummy in the shower. x

Oh, my best mate's second cousin is Blake fielder-civil, something like that, the one who was with Amy Winehouse but is currently in prison re: drug possession. Not supprisingly my mate doesn't like people knowing this link, although his family have nothing to do with that side of the family.

My Dad's uncle was in the band, 'The Zombies' that had such smash hits (well, they only had one) such as 'Time of the Season' that's actually played in a Simpsons episode. My Dad can be heard doing the clapping in the background.

Thrilling stuff.
