Perhaps a GRplayde could be a nice excuse to dust off your Switch, Jawa! It's on sale on the eshop until 14 January.

How are we actually going to manage a collective play of DE? It's the kind of experience which is quite dependent on the individual in terms of how you progress and approach things and a lot of the joy comes from experiencing something fresh yourself that your weren't expecting. I fear it would be just walls of spoilered text where nobody knows when it's safe to read things

I was thinking about it, PB - I have around £2.40 in Gold Coins, too. I'm a bit concerned that the text is very small on the Switch screen, though?

We go one at a time, with each person completing it then being able to watch/read the thoughts of the next person as they progress.

I have the Switch version Jawa, the text is fine, it’s a good version of the game. Least it gives you the option of playing on the telly or in portable mode.

That's not something I thought of, cause I'll be streaming it to the GRcade channel either way.

ANyone have thoughts on this?

I guess there could be a chat about the general things happening in the game with decisions and outcomes in spoiler boxes?

I haven't voted as I have both and have played neither (bar a tiny bit of Dead Cells)

I think it's perfectly possible as long as people write their spoilers out considerately, like e.g. (this is a genuine but very mild spoiler for Disco Elysium):

Day 3, west side of map
Can't believe how much there is to see across the bridge, it's like the game just doubled in size! Being immediately greeted with the crashed car was so funny too.

I think the techniques to use are: 1. vague description at the start, 2. write the rest of what you want to say in a spoiler box, 3. use inline spoiler tags inside the spoiler box to cover particular details like the punchlines to jokes or the answers to mysteries.

That sounds like a lot but it's really not once you get into the habit of it. I try to do this anyway and it's not that much effort.

This seems like a solid enough way of doing it, maybe making a specific character if that's more appropriate than a location without giving too much away.

I think it would be really cool to follow along with updates from simultaneous playthroughs and see how they diverge, but I am saying that as someone who's already completed the game and isn't too concerned about major plot point spoilers.

Ta, guys. I will have a think about it!

Oh, and, yeah, that suggestion about "how to use spoiler tags" feels pretty spot-on.

I've watched a few clips of Disco Elysium on Switch and it looks intriguing. Apparently an update really improved the initially very long loading times, too.

I was just gonna change my vote from Dead Cells to Disco Elysium but I can't! I choose Disco!

I think I'll leave poll up until tomorrow. I don't see much point after that, it appears DE flew away with this.

Oh, 1 more question if we are going by checkpoints to chat and wait for others where would it work with this? Or are we just playing and chatting as we go?

I wonder if it could work well if each player just progressed at their own pace?

I’m trying to decide how to role play this time. I’ve done clean, Sherlock style intelligent savant. I’m torn between complete drug bender loon or violent authoritarian thug (make jokes here lol).

Why not both? Physical instrument and electrochemistry both sit within the physique skill set.
