It was very much a year of "Is that it?". Sony, Nintendo and Square all just stopped quite abruptly. That probably didn't help them either.

Nintendo should have cut Smash in half, had a 30 minute show and ended on a teaser trailer for Metroid Prime 4.

From an entertainment perspective, Microsoft. Ubisoft had its moments.

Sony still has the best games line-up but they tried something different in terms of presenting them and it clearly didn’t work.

From what I saw Nintendo was terrible.

A weak E3 compared to other years, despite the game everyone was waiting for finally being revealed (Resident Evil 2, obviously).

MS. But that really isn't saying much this year given how low the bar has been set for 2018.

Strongest was MS, yes most of that was third party but if third party looks best on XB1X then that's a big win.

Nintendo slipped up in my opinion. It would have been incredibly easy to release a reasonable DLC pack for Mario and Zelda and build some hype. Heck, if they don't DLC Zelda to hell, it's a bit waste of such an amazing game world.

There is no reason to own an Xbox One.

Microsoft, they had more of the games I want to play coupled with the bonus of not having to buy an Xbox to play them.

MS won E3 (according to GRcade) by a landslide.

The question is, can a win convert into those all important sales?

Yes?

Don't know about that but they're certainly turning it around after Mattrick nuked them from orbit.

Sony for the games, Microsoft for the presentation. Though with Gears 5 shown it's a close one seeing as I'm a massive Gears fan

Ubisoft started off ropey, but got much better as it went on until they finished on a limp note with AC Odyssey.

Microsoft's was pretty good all round, even if it left us hanging somewhat as to what the future will entail for the Xbox brand and forthcoming first party games from new studios.

Sony's was pretty standard, but the games shone through.

Bethesda obviously have some good games to look forward to, but most felt years away.

Didn't watch the rest.

Overall though, probably MS. Just.

Microsoft, no question.

Trouble is it wasnt because of the exclusives. As a conference it was perfectly paced and showed plenty.

They still have a huge issue in that department but are starting to say the right things.

They already have done DLC for Zelda though. I suspect they don’t see much value in doing more, resources better be spent elsewhere now.

I’ve said this before but with no Mario DLC announced 8 months after release, they’re doing SMO2 in my opinion.

Not really, I don’t think E3 matters as much in the grand scheme of things nearly as much as people think. Maybe if you’re unveiling a new console, but at this point into the generation I don’t think it’s major.

From what I’ve seen, Microsoft looks like it won’t it but I’m never buying an Xbox one and Sony have enough coming to keep me happy

PLAY | Final Fantasy VII Rebirth [92h]
WATCH | Ted Lasso S2, HiJack S1, The Apprentice S18
RACE | Westonbirt Half (March), Chew Valley 10k (June), GNR (Sept), Cardiff Half (Oct)
