Cori Tap is great, but not somewhere I'd send a group of people who don't know their way around.

Oblo, if the weather is nice and they want cider, head for the Apple. If you pub crawl along King Street then you'll come across it when you reach the river. Brewdog is very close to it as well.

We're not big on cider. By we, I mean me in particular .

Covid-related restrictions permitting, I imagine we'll be in and out of a lot of different places. I've just mentioned that "I hear King Street is good for beer", now let's just hope no one asks who I heard it from :shifty:.

A group of us ate at turtle bay just before Xmas, and that was a good laugh. It was lively and served good food

https://www.turtlebay.co.uk/food-and-drink

The Milk Thistle was really good for Cocktails, and Chomp Was really good for Steak.

Love Bristol. Been there about 10 times for nights out and there are so many places to eat and drink.

Personally would rather do neither at the moment with the current situation but would get into a lot of trouble if I suggested we postpone/cancel. We were supposed to be going to London this weekend and Bristol the following but have now postponed until Christmas and don't dare suggest we do the same with the other trips. :dread:

Living in Yeovil (eurgh) does have 1 positive in that I can get to Lyme Regis, West Bay, Exmouth or Weymouth in about 40 mins. All Nice places and worth a look but imagine very busy at the moment.

I've enjoyed the food from Turtle Bay in Birmingham but from memory the beer is pretty poor, as the drinks focus is very much on cocktails.

My tip for food in Bristol would be Coconut Tree - it's a bit further out toward Clifton but it's strawberry floating amazing. Been there twice now (and to the ones in Cheltenham and Cardiff) and had a thoroughly great meal each time.

Was supposed to be on my honeymoon at Easter for 2 weeks, but instead my only holiday this year is going to be spending this week at the in laws caravan in North Wales. It's lovely here. Just been to the beach, and while there are people about, very easy to keep a good distance from others, and the weather's currently amazing.

We initially accepted a credit note (plus 10%!) back from the travel company for the cancelled honeymoon, with the intention of rebooking at some point next year, but now we're expecting a baby in February, we've had to ask them for a full refund instead.

Longleat could be a Good shout. Never been but heard its very nice if a bit expensive.

We went to longleat centre parcs a few years ago, can confirm it's both very nice and a little bit expensive.

We got a fairly good offer on a two storey cabin with its own mini kitchen downstairs and a sauna and balcony upstairs. They gifted us chocolates and champagne as well which was lovely, I assume that's a standard thing. A deer came up to our lodge window one morning.

Looking at doing a week away in Wales in October and just doing an Airbnb somewhere we can use as a base to drive out from for the day to go and visit stuff.

Any recommendations on best general area to stay in? We've picked Wales as my partners family is from Wales but we've never been, but have no idea which part to go to!

We'd like to stay somewhere with nice country/sea views that's nearby plenty of things to do should be choose to go out exploring.

Anywhere in the Gower is probably a pretty safe bet - lovely scenery and coast line and popular enough that there's a good amount of stuff to do there.

Only downside is that it's quite near Swansea - but just keep your head down when you go through there and you should be fine!

Failing that there are plenty of places along the Welsh coast that are really nice to visit: Tenby, St Davids, Fishguard, Cardigan are all places that I've been on holiday/ for day trips recently and really enjoyed.

I was gonna suggest the Gower as well, really nice beaches, and if you do want to head towards Swansea, you've always got the Mumbles end, rather than more central, which is actually pretty nice.

Alternatively, I spent a week up at the in laws caravan in Porthmadog this summer, and that's great, too. Nice beaches, plenty of places to go walking. Easy to drive to anywhere in Snowdonia or around there from as well.

I'd be wary of taking up that offer, there's something about Ad's house that seems familiar:

What's that mother? But that sailor suit doesn't fit any more!

We've decided on a nice UK based holiday now, most of it is booked.

Don’t forget your Bradshaws. Also make sure to randomly stop passers by and ask them if they’re having a nice time.
