Welcome, Lewis, to Club Wii

. The Wii remains, to me, a classic console; one of my favourites. It has a reputation for shovelware but, in amongst that vast gaming catalogue, there are plenty of excellent titles.

The Wii Remote Pluses are lovely and to have three brand new ones is terrific!

I still hugely rate those collections, moreso Wii Sports Resort. In the sequel, Bowling and Archery are excellent and Table Tennis is simply superb; a wonderful demonstration of just how good the Motion Plus can be with good coding. The feel and accuracy of bat movement in TT is amazing. You can spin and cut the ball just like in the real game.

I still maintain that wielding a Wii Remote (and nunchuk) is a great way of videogaming. Sure, there were a ton of games that used them reallly badly but, when carefully coded, the experience is - for me - up there alongside VR as a new way of gaming.
If you're into shooters, I can recommend House of the Dead Returns, HOTD Overkill, Gunblade NY / LA Machineguns and Ghost Squad as super ways of playing Time Crisis-styled action with the Remote.
And if you're looking for more family-orientated action, Wii Party and Boom Blox are both excellent fun.
