You can see it dropping resolution at times to keep the framerate up and some areas do still lag a bit, but it's extremely impressive.

To that effect, apparently the latest build (currently only available to crowdfunders) has eliminated a good deal of perfornace issues thansk to asynchronous audio:

Apparently turning off audio in current free build can have the same effect, but the above update should be coming to free build very soon anyway.

Honestly, part of my desire for a Switch Pro style upgrade is being able to homebrew my original Switch, rip all my games and try this out. Amazing progress :'D

Yeah I played the early access version the other day and it was impressive the improvement. Apparently the one they put out not long after it has an even bigger bump. I'm hoping it's going to get me closer to a locked 60fps and less resolution dips.

Gonna check it out tonight.

That is pretty incredible. Hoping to dabble in a bit more up to date emulation when I get my new PC build done later in the year. Things like this and RPCS3 are going to be fun to investigate!

Nice one! Yeah resolution's an interesting case with how many Switch games use dynamic res. Going to be bonkers when this thing gets resolution increase options

Enjoy! I still need to set up RPSC3. With a modern CPU you should easily be sorted on that :)

Anyone able to add a load of PAL N64 games to the folder? Getting weird issues with Japanese and US ROMs through an overdrive clone using a RAD2x cable. PAL Roms seem to run fine. It's strange, as the US and Japan ones run fine using a component cable and that cart.

Grateful if anyone could fire in whatever PAL N64 ones they have.

I may have cleared the entire folder and currently be replacing it with a full N64 set with ROMs from every region. It's around 951 files and should be done in an hour or two.

I live just outside Glasgow (Like a 5-10 minute drive) but I wouldn't be going.

It's not really my kind of event. I like places I can buy retro games.

Really? It’s usually a cracking night. I’m just near Clydebank. Can’t be too far from you then.

I'm not a big Multiplayer guy to be fair.

But yeah I'm the opposite side of Glasgow, just outside Cambuslang.

Does anyone have a guide for modding an Xbox 360 to play games from an external HDD?
I'm assuming you can softmod them anyway and be fine so long as you keep it offline.

If you can is there an application similar to a modded original Xbox that allows you to rip game discs to the HDD?

There's no 360 Softmod that I am aware of.

The link below basically details how to get backups running and your choices essentially boil down to hacking the disc drive to accept backups, or getting an ODE (Optical Drive Emulator) which you can load all your ISOs on.
https://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-how-t ... 60.334203/

Semi-related I, but I think once you start looking at PS2/XB/GC era onwards, the methods of playing backups really start to ramp up in terms of how technical they are and what you need to do.

Cartridge based systems are so much easier because they generally just need an everdrive of some kind and off you go.

I've just finished (More or less) setting up my PS2 for backups and it did require a bit of technical ability. Nothing major and if you can follow a Youtube tutorial you'll probably be fine. GC or XBox is probably next.

I use my Wii U for Wii U/Wii/ Game Cube. Only issue is it looks gooseberry fool on vWii on a 4k TV.

I’ve given up waiting for GC games on Switch, desperate to play through Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance. Seeing so many of the characters in FEH has me so eager to revisit the game. But having never really dabbled in this kinda stuff I’m a little apprehensive. Is there anything I should be cautious about when seeking out places to ‘obtain’ the games. I assume I’ll be good with just Adblock and scanning the downloads? I’m not entirely sure what I can and can’t say here :slol:. Less worried about getting Dolphin, more so the games from safe places.

I‘m kinda tempted to play Animal Crossing GC prior to New Horizons. Even a little Mario Party (how does online work, easy to play with friends online?).

Apologies if I’m asking dubious things here, but GRcade is the only disreputable gaming site I visit. :P Didn’t know where else to turn to.

I must admit, it's gotten a lot more difficult in recent years with the downfall of the Bay and other such torrent sites. There are still forums knocking about but most, if not all, are sketch as strawberry float. Games split into 17-part ZIPs, each part behind its own monetised AdFly page forcing you to disable adblockers. I've long since given up on them.

If you ask nicely, Dev might know of a place. Might even know where to find Path of Radiance...

Would also appreciate any help in finding a safe place to obtain some of these games. Just got myself a new PC and I've been eager to try Dolphin out for years.
