As you used Wine you must be on either Linux or OSX so Mupen is availble for both of them and shouldn't have any problems reading the .z64 file type.

I think Wii64 takes .z64 files, but I don't know how good the emulation is.

There's all the VC WADs in the drive as well, so you've got N64 games amongst them.

I'm wondering if there's a way to inject N64 roms into the WADs as well.

There is. It's not easy though and it's not guaranteed to work for all games.

Emulating I’m WiiU (I think it’s booting into Wii side from a channel on the WiiU side.

Emulator is Wii 64.

According to YouTube there’s a fairly easy process to inject Roms into VC wads Devlin.

Just keen on using an emulator for quickness of reading roms and not having to faff.

The state of N64 emulation is sad. I know it's slightly more powerful than the PS1 but you can emulate pretty much all games at full speed on any old piece of crap for the PS1. N64 is all over the place and still has graphical inaccuracies compared to the real thing.

The current state of its emulation is why an official N64 mini will be so popular. It will literally be the best option for N64 emulation, and there won't be any (legitimate) cries of "Well why not just get a Raspberry Pi?"

That'll probably be the same reason they aren't making one.

I finally got round to setting up an Amiga boot disk for my Pi. It is harder to do than most the others as RetroPie doesn't support it by default (Ie you can't boot Amiga games from the Retropie front end.)

However, I used Amibian and it appears to be working very nicely. Had a quick go on Cannon Fodder this morning and it appears to be very faithful and very smooth. I'll try some more games this evening.

Some of the online guides are quite clunky and not that easy to follow. If anyone is interested, I've just re-written a guide for a friend to use - drop me a DM and I can hook you up, as well as point towards suitable ROMs and ADF (game) files.

I set up an Amiibian SD card a few months back and it's weird to be able to essentially turn the Pi into an Amiga.

It's a computer I never owned myself, but I was friends with a couple of people who had them and got to play them a handful of times. As such I've got a bit of a fascination with them and I've caught myself on eBay a few times looking for a deal on an A1200.

The Amiga is lot of fun but everytime I see them people want a heck of a lot of cash for them. The Amiga I own is a 500 and is badly badly stained I got it off a carboot about 8 years ago for £5 and always wanted to replace it with a better looking one, but theres just so many things Id like to do and only so much time and space. I have many many happy memories of the Amiga though playing all sorts of stuff Elvira, Moonstone, North and South, shuttle puck cafe.... heck just talking about this is making me want to make more Amiga based YouTube vids.

Yeah, same: I did have one, but can't quite get rid of my fascination with them. I tried to be as ruthless as I could with the games i copied across - I find going for too many means you end up playing none. I still ended up with almost a hundred, with a few favourites still missing that I can't find good versions of yet. (Uridium 2, Skidmarks, to name 2.)

How good is redream?! I'm wishing I used this to play Tony hawk 2 instead of PCSX now.

It's a shame it's closed source, I'd love to see it added to libretro/retroarch. Happily paid the pittance of $5 to have the internal resolution options though.

In terms of N64 emulation, I recently installed Homebrew on my Wii in order to play Mario Party 3 which isn't on the Virtual Console. It ended up running pretty well once we'd got the settings sorted, used the Not64 emulator to run it.

Nice. Might check that out myself since I occasionally meet up with a few friends to play Mario Party and prefer the older ones (normally 2 or 4).

You got a guide that you used Drumstick? I recently tried to do the same thing on WiiU and it’s not working, although I think I’m using Wii64 instead.

Also, anyone able to add the GC splinter cell games to the folder please?

That’s link’s not working mate.

I’ve got homebrew working, just the n64 emulator I was using is goosed. It tells me the rom types I have are invalid. Pain in the arse!
