Yeah I didn't really like using the mouse for gyro on Cemu, but if it's fine for others then that's cool. Might see if I can get used to them though.

The controls are not completely ideal and there are some very minor audio issues but otherwise it runs perfectly and looks amazing. Defo the way I want to re-play the game when I feel like it.

I need to take a look at citra, when I last checked in it was barely running anything, I take it there's been a lot of progress since?

Yeah, it runs a lot of games very well. OoT3D, Majora's Mask 3D and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire notably work perfectly. And at a glance of the compatibility list it looks like most games play well if not entirely without issues.

What sites do you use now for getting the iso's?

Does anyone here use Launchbox? or because games need to be configured individually on some emulators do you not bother?

Depends what you're after, for older stuff some posts on this page should point you in the right direction,

I use a certain rodhullparadise and hustler site but trying to find some safe places where I may be able to get some packs I can use in Launchbox frontend. I can rip from my games but as mentioned that's time consuming doing individually.

Does pcsx2 allow you to save individual game config files as some games require little tweaks?

There's a gui frontend called pcsx2bonus which does just that.

Don't suppose anyone here has experience with netplay on Retroarch? Pedz and I were trying to get it to work earlier to no avail

Got me to try out scanlines on the 4k set anyway, super happy with the results :D

I don't like them either.

Or any other post processing nonsense on sprite based games.

Citra the 3DS emulator got a huge update recently, really drastic performance boost.

My computer struggled to run Pokémon Moon before, even on standard/lower resolutions, but now it seems pretty much perfect at around 4/5 times the native resolution. Emulation accuracy is better too. Before the model outlines in this game didn't upscale properly so they'd look ugly (and you'd have to remove them through external means to make the game look okay) and now that's fixed. All across the board games are running better and a lot even run perfectly now.

Ha re: scanlines, I certainly understand why they're divisive. I personally love how authentic they can be in replicating the CRT look, which is important for me given how clearly the sprites in many of these older games were designed for that in mind. Not every scanline solution is created equal alas, my personal favourite is probably the CRT sharp one in Sonic Mania.

I desperately want to try this...but I'm still terrified of CFW'ing my 3DS in fear of being banned, and I really want to play it via my own ripped games as opposed to having to scrounge around for ROMs.

Amazing progress nonetheless, it's staggering how far many of the recent emulators (Dolphin/Citra/Cemu/RPCS3) have come along recently. If I get over my 3DS hacking wimpiness it could honestly get me back into playing 3DS stuff, I'd certainly rather played Metroid: Samus Returns via Citra than on real hardware.

Is there any sort of texture pack available for Skyward Sword? I played it on a modded Wii way back when, and the textures and depth of field made it look like hot strawberry floating garbage.

There is! Although I'm not sure if it's 100% finished, most GC/Wii texture packs don't seem to be sadly.

You can disable the depth of field effect with a hack, though apparently it can cause a few glitches. Shockingly, as someone who usually loathes DoF I actually don't mind it too much here, it conveys the intended watercolour effect quite nicely.

Check the game's Dolphin Wiki in any case

I like the idea of it, but I think the limits of the hardware just made it look like ass. The combination of the DOF and low quality textures made dark interiors like the master sword room look like horribly compressed jpegs.

Yeah thought Dolphin has been amazing for a long time now, but yeah it's an amazing emulator. The PS2 one isn't too bad either, from what I remember. Citra, the PS3 emulator and especially Cemu have taken long strides recently, yeah. Cemu's team gets a good bit of funding and the PS3 emulator gets a decent amount as well. Citra's development is a bit more impressive considering it's just a small team of people with not quite the same exposure.

Also notable is the development of the Xbox emulator recently (forgot its name), and Dreamcast emulator Demul.

Oh my...HD JSRF :toot:

Amazing progress, I assumed OG Xbox emu was dead in the water by this point.
