Can't legally download them as they're essentially the same as game ROMs. It's the one glaring omission from the drive that I need to rectify actually. I'll probably sort that over the next few days or so once I've cleaned up my local folders.

Your screenshot also confirms that it's the .cue file you would launch from Retroarch as well.

Got the bios files and got them in the right place (that screen shows them as being present. Trying to load the cue file but getting a black screen. Pain in the arse. Not sure beetle is supported on wiiU, but it seems odd that it would let me download it within the wiii.

Try using one of the other PS1 cores. Retroarch has a few and most work fairly well.

The only one that shows in the wiiU is that Beetle. Maybe that’s the only compatible one?

From a quick google it does appear like Wii U PSX emulation through retroarch isn't perfect. Try finding the spch7003 bios file and rename it to spch5501. That sometimes works.

Yeah everything suggests it better to use a different emulator on the vWii, but I’d rather be able to play on the game pad.

I’ll give that a bash. Cheers mate!

So this is super neat, there's a fork of bsnes that now supports high res (960p) rendering for mode 7 graphics, ie the pseudo 3D effect SNES games use by rotating and zooming a single background

More comparisons here and here

Needless to say it's a game changer for Mario Kart, F-Zero and Pilotwings! And it'll be a treat for stuff like RPGs with mode 7 overworlds.

That's incredible, I wonder if they could something similar with games that used the Super FX chip to add antialiasing the unshaded polygons.

Totally. Depending on the price I'm in day-one for that. £60 is probably a nice price point for me, but we'll see what they announce.

Yeah, £60 seems like a good biting point given I'd need to buy a Pi zero.

Yeah, stick another £10 on for the Wifi/Bluetooth Pi Zero and a few quid for an SD card and you could easily spend more than you think on it.

So, having been watching this on Twitch for a while I finally jumped in and started my first SMZ3 (Super Metroid/Zelda 3) run the other day. Basically it's the LTTP/Super Metroid crossover-randomizer, with item locations randomized across both games. So for example I could find the Master Sword in Norfair, or the Grapple Beam in Zora's River.

There are predetermined crossover points that take you from one game to the other. In Zelda, the Fortune Tellers House by lake Hylia takes me to Crateria. One of the Death Mountain caves to Upper Norfair.

It's totally reinvigorated the challenge in both games and especially in Super Metroid, as I'm having to do things out of sequence and with equipment I wouldn't usually have. Just last night I had to fight Phantoon with 4 energy tanks, no suit upgrades and the Plasma Beam. I've STILL not found normal Morph Ball Bombs yet, meaning I have to use Power Bombs for everything at the moment.

It's making me think of the game in a completely different way and I absolutely love it.

You can find the link to the randomizer page below.

https://samus.link/

You need to plug in specific versions of the game ROMs, but I'll upload them to the usual place later tonight so you don't need to go hunting.

I'm definitely enjoying it, especially when you get a drought then find a load of stuff. Came across one room in Zelda with five chests and got:

Moon Pearl
Lightning Medallion
Power Gauntlet
Missile Pack
Rupees

Three items I needed to really open up ALTTP. Still waiting on Bombs, Varia/Gravity suit to really get me on track with Metroid. I'm dreading the Draygon fight as I've always used the Grapple Beam strategy on him, but if I don't have it by then I'll have to actually fight him. :dread:

Anyone else ever used a TwoDS card on a DS or 3ds/2ds? I got one cheap the other day and as well as allowing you to play DS roms with some tinkering there supposed to let you play snes games and gba games on a DS, I've managed to get snes games working like 48 out of the 50 I tried work but I can't seem to get a single gba game running and wonderd if anyone else on here had any experience.

I used an M3 back on the DS and you had to install the emulator on it as well. No idea how it would work with that card though.

Do you mean a DSTwo?

If so, you might need to upgrade the firmware through their website.
