Steam Deck is going to be an emulation beast.

https://www.pcgamer.com/emulator-develo ... team-deck/

The developers of Yuzu are confident it's going to be able to run some games pretty well out of the box and thats before they begin optimising for it.

So Switch games are potentially on the cards here. :D :toot:

Can't wait for this.

If I were in the market for some SNES etc emulators for my laptop, how would I go about it? :shifty:

Been messing about with Cemu the last few days and it’s amazing. With the graphics packs it’s incredible how well games run and look.

No experience of SNES emulators. But I think CEMU and wii u helper have stuff on there you can use.

I used YouTube guides and they had the links for all you need and there are loads of good videos on how to use, I think I followed a ‘bsod’ set. CEMU is the emulator, CEmu hook helps to add data, wii u helper has the roms. Not sure if there is a better way for SNES. It doesn’t have many GameCube games, but I’ve heard dolphin is better for those.

Anyone know how to transfer save files (the in game ones that would be on the cart battery) from one emulator to another?

Been playing Pokemon Fire Red on No$GBA but encountered a graphics issue that made it almost impossible to play so switched to mGBA and tried copying the save file across to it but the emulator just doesn't seem recognize it even though it's in the correct folder.

Had a quick look at the save file using notepad and there's a bit at the beginning of the long string of jargon that says no$GBA so tried editing it out (as a google search suggests) to no avail.

As far as I'm aware, the save file should work fine so long as it's in the same folder and matches the name of the ROM, i.e. 'mario.gba' and 'mario.sav'.

Are you certain you're looking at the .sav file, and not a savestate .sgm file or something like that?

I've tried using Wii U helper before but could never get it to download any roms.

Just tried it again to discover it no longer lets you downloads 3ds games.

Really wanted to try the 3ds Pokemon games and I don't really know where else to acquire them.

I've got bloody loads on my 3DS, but I never bothered to keep the original files after installing them. I think there's a way to package them back up, but I've never really looked into it. Might get round to it if there's any glaring omissions in the, er, certain place...

Just changed the software on my PowKiddy Q90 for some newer custom firmware and upgraded from a 16gb micro SD to a 32gb, disappointingly PS1 games are still bad on it but on the good side Mame on it's better in that it seems to be a better emulator which will play more games, also had spectrum games running on it and noticed there's an Amiga emulator but that doesn't work as I need to add kickstart files, there's also a c64 one but I didn't have ROMs for that, a pokemon mini emulator and a game and watch one. It's fun messing with all this stuff, it also has the BOR streets of rage remake on it which I found myself really enjoying.

Just had a quick trial go on Pokemon X on Citra and it seems to work quite well on the default settings although I have had to disable G-sync as it was causing horrible flickering.

When I got the PowKiddy it did Master system, game gear, gameboy, gbc, gba, megadrive, pc engine, nes, wonderswan and said it did PS1 although the PS1 was very shoddy.

Since I updated it I can add Neo Geo Pocket, Pokemon Mini, Commadore 64, Amstrad, Spectrum, Atari 2600, and Atari Lynx to the list of systems I have on it and working with plenty of roms.... There's an Amiga emulator but I cant quiet get it working, at first it was to do with kickstart but now its working but cant find the roms , I think maybe cause im using the wrong kind or something and there a coleco emulator on it but I haven't added roms, and a Vectron Emulator but again same thing.

It had some chinese branded 16gb memory card with like 100 snes games on it and 100 Megadrive games, now its got a brand im happier with which is 32gb and I have like every megadrive and SNES game I have on it, every GBA game as well , plus a good chunk of arcade games.

Thank you very much to a certain person who keeps a well stocked drive that helped me get a few things I didn't have roms for

Got Mario Kart 7 reasonably playable with my rather janky onscreen control setup but need to fiddle with the sensitivity settings and layout as its a little hard to steer atm.

Just managed to finish 2nd in the first cup though.

Thought I'd lost all of the roms off my old PC when the motherboard fried all my hard drives last year, yesterday I decided to see what was on one of my old external drives and there's loads of DS, GBA and PSP on it :datass:
