Yeah ESRGAN upscaling is also a very exciting development! It's another great solution to presenting low resolution backgrounds + 3D models on modern displays

ESRGAN is sweet. Everyone who watches the FFIX GRcadeuk streams always ask if it's aome kind of remaster because of how.good it looks.

Folks, need a bit of advice. Bought an EZ Flash Omega off eBay. The first photo is my one. You can see the box doesn’t have the Nintendo logos in the bottom right. A quick google search shows most of them have this on the box.

Any idea if that means mine is a repro? I’m not home to try it yet, but I just noticed this and am a bit concerned I’ve been bumped.

Haha, I know mate, but the thought of modifying the card to get it in and out seemed like a nightmare.

If it is a fake I’ll be hammering the seller, but I need to suss it out.

Packaging can change all the time, doesn't necessarily mean it's a fake. If pay more attention the the hardware itself.

Yeah I’ve got a good idea what I’m looking for with the unit itself. Fingers crossed.

Hard to say. Flash carts aren't something I'm too familiar with.

Where did you buy it?

eBay. It seems like the seller is just a normal punter selling theirs off rather than one of these dodgy companies selling loads of fake looking gooseberry fool. That made me think it was more likely to be real. Just makes me wonder why those logos aren’t on the box when most of them seem to have that.

I thought flash carts had been ruled totally illegal in the UK now. I want one for DS but I’m hesitant to buy one as I’m not sure I’m comfortable with the idea of buying something illegal online.

Do go on... bear in mind I’m not very tech savvy.

EDIT: Also before somebody points it out I appreciate the hypocrisy in my willingness to download and play ROMS but hesitance to handle contraband.

I also have a black DS lite going at the same time if you'd be interested.

I’m okay for now, I have enough legit games to be getting on with but I’ll bear you in mind if I still want one down the line.

I‘m only after one as there are a couple of super expensive DS games I fancy playing but don’t really want to fork out for.

Maybe you should sign up to Secret Santa as a way of getting shot of it. ;)

My EZ Flash Omega seems to be legit. Works a treat. Looking at replacing my GBA micro faceplate and battery. The battery is only lasting a few hours.

Anyone got any recommendations for batteries? Loads of sellers online but don’t want to buy some shitty one that will blow my house up. Likewise with faceplates, loads on sale but not sure if any are a decent fit.

Glad it's working well for you.

I ordered my SD2SNES Pro the other day, so just waiting on that coming and I'll have access to 99.99% of the SNES/Super Famicom library on legitimate hardware, as well as the additional MSU1 enhancement patches it can use.

Just need to pair it with an 8bitdo retro receiver and an HDMI output cable and I'll have future proofed my SNES & Super Famicom for the next few years at least.

Had a bit of a purge of my ROMs, nothing rare or interesting, just loads of games that I've massed for the sake of it and have no nostalgia for because I never played them back in the day or have interest in playing now. All those disc images and zip files were taking up a LOT of space too.
