That looks ideal mate. Now to figure out how to use them. The thread in GBA temp makes it sound complicated.

New version of DosBox specifically designed for retroarch could be very interesting indeed.

If the DosBox core is ported to it then absolutely.

So the Xbox Series S/X now does PlayStation backwards compatibility better than the PlayStation.

Well that's cool as hell. If I was in the market for one of the new consoles that would definitely sway me; still got a 1080p TV and don't feel the need for anything bigger, and an all-singing all-dancing emulation machine that also plays modern stuff is quite tempting.

In-depth look at current state of PS2 emulation on XBSS/SX.

Yeah this makes the Series S seem a lot more interesting/attractive.

Youtube channel showing step-by-step set up for Retroarch, PS1, PS2, Saturn and DS games running on the new Xbox systems.

He intends to upload more videos for different cores, so I would expect Gamecube to be soon. Stuff like SNES, MD and earlier shouldn't need much help. If you know how to download the core and access your games they should be fine.

And here's how to get GC games up and running on Xbox Series S/X.

Anyone able to add Jet Set Radio, Ikaruga and Sonic Adventure to the folder by any chance? I got a hold of one of those retroid pocket 2 consoles and playing around with it. Giving some dreamcast stuff a bash.

I was sure they were already on it.

Either way I'm uploading them just now. I could only get the US version of JSR, so it's Jet "Grind" Radio, which annoys the gooseberry fool out of me, but you might be able to put up with it. Other than that I believe it's identical to the EU release. If I can get another version I'll replace it. These are also the GDI versions, so too big to burn to CDs if that's your intention. If you want the smaller CDI formats, let me know.

GrinWithoutaKat wrote:Can Retroarch do original Xbox?

Not at this time.

Original Xbox emulation has only really gotten to a playable state on PC in the past year or so and it's still very buggy with poor compatability. As such there's no Retroarch core for it at the moment (That I am aware of).
CXBX-Reloaded is the PC one you want to look at though.

Loads of times I have considered getting some form of android handheld to play emulated stuff on , stuff like megadrive SNES etc, I've done it a bit with an old 2ds but keep contemplating getting something else but there's so much choice.

I've got a couple over the past few years and they can be pretty good.

Just set your budget and see what you can get. Youtube has a lot of good channels that review them as well.
