I can barely contain my excitement, when I saw this pop up on steam the other day.

Didn't bother clicking the link and so I assume it's about a remix of this banger.

I'm not saying that jawa asks can make dreams come true... but maybe it can? :o .

I remember enjoying Desert Strike on the Mega Drive and I am pretty sure I have it on Amiga, too. It's a series that was very popular but, alas, fell by the wayside once the 32 bit systems arrived. This new homage looks good and I hope that it can release on consoles as well as PC.

Really enjoyed Desert and Jungle back in the day, but felt like they never really evolved the formula enough to sustain it.

Hopefully this has some new ideas to throw into the mix!

I loved Soviet strike, they went all in with the cheesy FMV and I loved it!

Don’t know about that. It evolved all the way into Future Cop: LAPD.

The guy who made it said he was tired of waiting for the games to be remade.

Didn't realise you were guys were so into bowling! Must have been a good one to remake it. I'm guessing barriers down?

Nuclear Strike, Soviet Strike and Future Cop all came out once the 32-bit systems arrived and they were great - show some respect :capnscotty:

Am I the only one that thinks this new game looks a bit gooseberry fool?

Yes. I think. I saw desert strike with modern graphics, night missions, dodging missiles. I don’t have massive expectations. Strike game with modern graphics. I’m happy.

If anyone wants to tidy up the initial post and give it the jawa treatment, feel free. I’m rubbish and I was a tad excited.

That's a good call, Preezy - I'd totally forgotten about those first two games! I've not played them but they look pretty good and I dunno why I never tried to get 'em during my PS1 collecting phase.

I have played Future Cop LAPD, though, and it's an excellent title. Not really a Strike entry - although I know that in it's early development it was going to be - but a super game all the same.

Yep, looks good to me. Only downside is the deliberately cheesy voiceover. And that it appears to be Steam only.

Had that on Saturn although my biggest memory of it was the weird boxes EA shipped Saturn games in.
