Hoping to get some help. I've never tried emulating a cd based system. I know you use the ISO files on an emulator but the shared drive contains .bin and .cue files for each game. Can they be used instead of or do you need to convert them into an ISO before you can play? I use Retroarch with a PSX core

You'll need both files for the games and there's no need to convert it to an ISO. The .CUE file is basically a table of contents, telling the emulator where the various "Tracks" start and finish in the .BIN file.

It can vary from emulator to emulator, but just point it at one of the two files. If it works, great, if not try the other file.
Off the top of my head PS1 Retroarch cores use the .cue file to open it, but I'm not sure.

I'd avoid re-naming the files if possible as it might cause issues, but otherwise just keep the two files for each disc in the same location.

EDIT: A lot of Disc based systems need the appropriate BIOS files as well. Which now that I think about it aren't on the Drive. I'll get them put up at the weekend.

Awesome thanks! I'll give it a go with a couple of games anyway and see how we get on!

EDIT: I tried out Marvel vs Capcom and it runs great without a BIOS. Why do some games require a BIOS?

I think a couple of PS1 emus on retroarch have their own custom bios, which is why some games will run, but not all are compatible with them. Official Bios don't have that issue and maximise the available titles.

I really ought to get round to trying PS1 emulation at some point.

Yea PSCXreARmed will try it's best to make a game work if it can't find a BIOS. I've ended up finding the BIOS files with a quick Google search. I belive they're 5000 5001 5002 for Japan, US and Pal respectively.

Also, anyone got a ROM of Beetle Adventure Racing that they could add to the folder?

Cheers mate. Looking forward to getting a shot of it tonight. What N64 emulator do people recommend? I’ve tried project64, but it doesn’t let me save games unless I register it. I tried openemu, which lets me save, but doesn’t let me improve the resolution. Can’t find one that’s ideal.

Any suggestions, keeping in mind I’m using a Mac.

I was going to suggest this one I posted a few pages back as it's supposedly a fairly good leap in N64 emulation,

https://m64p.github.io

But I think it's Windows and Linux only.

N64 emulation is a tricky beast so emulation options for it are a bit limited, and even the options available all have their own quirks and limitations.

I think bar Dolphin and PPSSPP I use Retroarch and the emulator Cores on there. Is that on Mac?

Retroarch does support Mac yes. I use the Mupen64Plus GLES3 core for my N64 emulation.

Speaking of N64 on retropi (pi3) yeah performance isn't great but besides the very start of races for some reason Mario kart 64 seems to have had a lot of work and runs at 1080p 60fps as far as I can tell. So that one's worth popping on.

Not much point since I have loads of ps1 systems but that emulator runs surprisingly well on Xbox!

Don't think I have that one, but I'll have a dig about tonight when I get home and see if I can find it anywhere.

I noticed I already had Silent Hill in my collection at home, but no memory of downloading it. Then checked my Wii folder and there's at least 26 Wii games I've added since the big upload. I'll add them over night I think.

It includes:
Another Code: R
Battalion Wars 2
de Blob
de Blob 2
Disaster Day of Crisis
Epic Mickey
Final Fantasy Fables - Chocobo's Dungeon
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Ghost Squad
Kororinpa
Madworld
Nights - Journey Into Dreams
Pokémon Battle Revolution
Project Zero 2
Rabbids Go Home
Rayman Raving Rabbids
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Sonic and the Black Knight
Sonic Unleashed
Sonic Colors
Spectrobes
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Tales of Symphonia
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom
The Conduit 2

Some interesting stuff in there.
