Do you mean a DSTwo?

If so, you might need to upgrade the firmware through their website.

Yep that's the thing, I have had TT cards, various R4's a super card one before and messed with them a lot but got this from a boot sale on Sunday, it came with a 8gig micro SD in it and was working but didn't have anything other than DS games on it.. I updated the firmware and added the files for the snes and gba emulators the way all the various sites suggested and it works a treat with snes stuff now but the gba emulator loads up but none of the games seem to work, tried about 20 gba games which I have playing on other things, it brings up a gba boot screen but where it says Nintendo is all scrambled like you sometimes get when your carts dirty on a real gba.. Thought id ask here just in case someone's had experience, if I can't get it working it's not the end of the world as it's pretty great using it to play snes and ds stuff. Thanks for the help/suggestions guys.

I've got a M3 life for my DS. It's a slot 2 device so sits in the GBA slot and runs from that with a key cart in the main game slot. That ran ds and gba roms no problem at all.

I'd wager you're just missing the GBA bios file. I dug up my own DSTwo to check, and after a bit of digging (and reinstalling the firmware because of a duff SD card), I found that there's a newer GBA emulator available here. It includes the VBA emulator's fake bios, so you don't have to go searching unless you have problem games.

Just unzip the folder from the filetrip link onto your SD root, pop a few games in the marked folder within 'TEMPGBA', and Bob's your uncle.

I tried it with Metroid Fusion and got through the opening cutscene just fine, but Sonic Advance locks up due to the anti-piracy measures.

Edit- And while we're on the subject, the same people have a newer SNES emulator here. I tried it with Super Mario World, but it's a bit... well, rough.

Thank you for being so helpful I'm away for a day or two but as soon as I'm home I'll have a bash at sorting it and let you know. I will also check if the above snes ones the same or different to the one I put on it. All the snes games I tried worked perfectly apart from starfox which was super slow and the firemen which wouldn't load, never tried Mario world though.

It might be worth checking whether your GBA ROMs need to be in .ZIP archives or not. I've found that to be the case with some emulators just not picking up certain games.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I'm definitely enjoying it, especially when you get a drought then find a load of stuff. Came across one room in Zelda with five chests and got:

Moon Pearl
Lightning Medallion
Power Gauntlet
Missile Pack
Rupees

Three items I needed to really open up ALTTP. Still waiting on Bombs, Varia/Gravity suit to really get me on track with Metroid. I'm dreading the Draygon fight as I've always used the Grapple Beam strategy on him, but if I don't have it by then I'll have to actually fight him. :dread:

Well I've picked up a few more items for ALTTP, but Metroid stuff still thin on the ground. Found the Blue Tunic, Ocarina/Flute, Cane of Somaria, Fire Rod and bought a Shield for 50 Rupees. Completed the Swamp Palace and Tower of Hera, but I think I'm going to have to take on Thieves Hideout or the Dark World forest temple soon to try and open up more chests. Zelda wise I'm able to get to most places now, though the Bow would be helpful.

For Metroid I've not found anymore significant upgrades just yet, so I'm really just pushing forward with Zelda until I get at least the Varia Suit. Bombs are still the most dire of my missing items as it's potentially very easy to lock myself in somewhere if I run out of Power Bombs. Got loads of Energy tanks at this point though.

Still really enjoying it though. It's great having to rethink these games based on where you can and can't access. Great fun.

If anyone else is interested in trying the randomiser out, those who have access to the "Drive" will find a folder in the "Hacks and Translations" section with the clean ROMS that you need to use.

Made use of a few Roms from that "Googly Drive" :shifty: on the PlayStation Classic, now up to 73 games installed with another 16 to stick on that I've just downloaded off another site (Has a gooseberry fool ton of Roms for quite a lot of systems)

Nice. Glad they're working on it. Might pick one up myself at some point if I see it cheap.

Been continuing my Super Metroid/Zelda Randomizer adventures. I've tried a few seeds and I'm still getting my head around certain aspects of how the logic works. I've got it set so that I don't need to know any glitches or speed running tricks for the game to be completable. It does however require extensive use of walljumps, and infinite bomb-jumps (Being able to climb large heights using just the timing of the bombs) to get there.

Trackers are essential for it (At least for the moment while I'm just getting into this) and really help visualise what items give you access to what areas. Also had to do some Dark World boss fights. Found it interesting how some bosses took no damage at all from the normal Fighters Sword. Had to beat the Palace of Darkness and Swamp Palace bosses using the Hammer as a replacement.

Really opened up Zelda in the current run I'm on. So nowhere is really off limits just now. Only really need one more medallion to open up Turtle Rock and I'm almost in "GO" mode. Then it's just Metroid to clean up. Wrecked Ship next and as long as the Gravity Suit turns up soon, I'll be heading to Marida after that.

Can't state enough how much I'm enjoying this. Great fun.

Even had a brief shot of the Ocarina of Time Randomizer as well. Pretty weird finding the Fairy Bow in Mido's house.

How would one gain access to "that" drive? :shifty: Just picked up a PSX Classic on the cheap.

You have to put on a Matt Damon mask and get into the back of the blacked out windowed limousine like the rest of us had to.

I've just uploaded a couple of files to the Commdore 64 folder.

Remakes of Ghosts and Goblins and Commando. They have all the levels that were missing from the original releases new music and any glitches fixed etc. Well worth a playthrough for anyone that has the nostalgia for the best 8 bit computer :)

Cool.

I've been wanting to upload some of the new games people make for the old systems then release for free. Retro gamer has a great section each month that has links to them all. Well worth checking out.

Yeah I've played a fair few of them when time and my memory allows. I keep meaning to get on the Bruce Lee sequel, loved the original back in the day and reports suggest this is just as good.

Thanks again for the access to the drive I'll update it with any games I have that aren't already there. You deserve a medal for sorting it out.
