I think I've found my ultimate forum enemy. His name is Errol, and I scoff at thee :x

I'll get the rest of my Geo Wars scores up to tonight, apologies for being a bit lazy.

Again, Errol

Competition 1 - Movie Scene

Game: Super Smash Bros Brawl
Type: Creative
Duration: 28/8/2010 – 10/9/2010

The Challenge:

Pausing games of Super Smash Bros has been a compelling past time ever since every teenage Nintendo fan discovered that yes, Peach has very nicely modeled under crackers.

It’s a simple addition really, ever since the first entry into the franchise, pausing the game has zoomed players closer to the action, allowing them to marvel at the intricate, fanboy pleasing details of Pikachu’s agonized grimace as Mario gives him a swift kidney shot.

What wasn’t added until Brawl, however, was a simple way to capture the action in any mode, the camera mode in Melee was appealing but cumbersome, Brawl gives you the tools anytime.

So what’s the idea here? Simple. I say simple, but that depends what you do with it really… You need to turn Smash on, likely you’ll need to set up two or more human players, and then it’s up to you to position them and take a screen grab of the big N’s greatest re-enacting a scene from a real life movie film.

Once you have your screengrab, ensure you’ve added my Wii number and Smash Bros Brawl code so you can send me the screenshot over, then I will collect them and post them in a voting thread a week tomorrow, on the 5th September.

So what are you waiting for? Will it be Mario dodging a bullet from the agent Wario? Toon Link and Adult Link locked in a lightsaber duel? Donkey Kong carrying Peach up the New Pork Skyscrapers? Don’t forget about items to help create the perfect scene, and have fun!

Winning points will be equated in relation to number of entries.

In Short:

- Using Super Smash Bros Brawl’s screen shot capabilities, recreate a famous movie scene.

- Add Dalagonash’s Wii & Smash Bros Brawl codes (and make sure he has yours!) so you can send over your picture before September 5th.

- Sit back and await the results. Points will be equated on number of entries.

Dalagonash's details:

Wii code: 0065-9017-5689-3751

Smash Code: 0732-6800-2871

I'd love to enter the competition but I'm rubbish at Smash Bros (and it would probably take me about a year to produce a half decent photo).

I think I'll focus of recording times for Mario Kart instead.

Give it a try! At this rate it'll likely only be me and you entering. You don't need to be good at Smash to do it either, just take an idea and try it out. I'd rather have five entries than only one amazing one.

Errol dominates Mario Kart. TAKE HIM DOWN!

Movie scene is almost an epic failure. Hoping to get one entry imminantly and will put up the two efforts anyway.

Mini comp coming soon.

I think the movie thing would have worked better if you had given us a shot to replicate.

Also it's a pretty non-high scorey thing to start off on for a league table thread.

Also, I think you may have over stretched your players a bit much. The sheer amount of tables involved, while admirable, is a little overwhelming.

I'll think about factors moving forward with the thread, it's something I've already had thought about. Mostly whilst filling in the pissing Geometry Wars Galaxies tables. I didn't want one game easily tipping the tables, but that game really does.

This was always going to be a bit of an uphill struggle wasn't it?

Don't want Dalagonash's work to go to waste so any chance we could sort of move this sideways into a general Wii online topic, Mario Karts got some advocates now and with Goldeneye out on Friday we could see a bit of activity in here and then hopefully high scores will follow
