Excellent price as I was expecting to pay £50. Currently downloading. Can't wait to get into metroid prime again, not played it since the GameCube.

Wish my image sig would work

It's brilliant. Already so absorbing and dual-stick with gyro is a dream. Significant remaster on the visuals too which I think look gorgeous, and the art-design still shines. The eye bloom effect when you go into a new well-lit area is almost worth the replay alone?!

Lovely playing a punchy old game again, where in the first hour and a half I've already fought three bosses and lost all items and gained two items again. Doesn't mess about!

Over the past couple of months I have completed

Prime 1
Abother Metroid 2 Remake
Prime 2

I will be playing Super Metroid (never got further than 2 hours) and Prime 3 (~10 hours) soon!

Prime 2 has excellent bosses but I came out of the game being very frustrated. If you miss a key the game will never hint where it is and it's miserable trying to backtrack to find one. I also spent a terrible 30 minutes desperately trying to get a powerbomb so I could open a powerbomb door for progress before giving up and resorting to using cheats on the emulator.

Oh also Prime 2 has a really bad problem with the map being innacurate. E.g. You're stuck and looking for progress so you look at the map and see an unlocked door you didn't go through. You walk all the way there and find it actually has a sonic gate in front of it that's not on the map. Boo.

Also save stated Emporer Ing's first 2 phases coz strawberry float that gooseberry fool.

Gotta say I came out of Prime 2 feeling like it could have been excellent but was far too frustrating to be able to say it's better than Prime 1. Also 50% of the game is purple and 75% of the other half is just Chozo Ruins/Tallon Overworld again.

I think if we'd had a crystal ball at the end of the Wii U era and known on Switch we'd get Prime Remastered, a new 2D Metroid and a new Prime game from Retro, people would have been a lot less stressed about the future of the series

Plus the ability to play the original version of all the 2D games once Fusion hits the GBA app. Surely a possibility that Echoes and Corruption could come out with a similar upgrade too. That’d make the Switch a proper Metroid machine.

Got to get an Other M port too :datass:

Been going through Fusion on the NSO.

I'd forgotten just how fantastic it is. There's something special about Metroid games in the SNES style it's just a magic format and style for them.

Next Metroid game I’m going to play is Super, one I’ve never played. After that it’ll be between trying Samus Returns or the fantastic Fusion, the only thing putting me off about going for SR is the lack of a map, think I’d have to have a map open on my iPad for pure ease.

Or I could wait for ZM, then play through all the 2D games in order…..

Finished Fusion. Absolutely brilliant, right up there with Super Metroid. Shame we'll never get another one in this style. I enjoyed it so much more than the Prime remaster. I know people complain about the on rails elements but as someone who generally finds getting lost in Metroid games immensely frustrating, I loved it.

Can you go back and hoover up items after completion? I seem to have saved at a point where things are locked down.

Yep, this is why Fusion is my favourite of all the Metroid games I have played. Dread was not too bad for this either, but I found Super Metroid incredibly frustrating at many points.

Dread is great at funneling you down the right path but making you feel like you've made a grand discovery on your own

Also liked Prime but didn't have a great time with it. On my first playthrough of Fusion probably done about 80% by now which I adore. Found Prime hardwork, Fusion is easy and on rails but it's so much fun.

I love how not alone I feel in the few last replies. Bolded bits I EXACTLY agree with

Fusion > Dread > Super > Prime
