Nice. There's been some back and forth between Behemoth and Zoast for this over the past few months. Find it amazing that there's still room to improve these runs.

EDIT: Just watched it and to be honest that's as close to a flawless run as I've ever seen for Super Metroid. Some great RNG in places, and the fast Phantoon fight was a big help.
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/407365343 - This is the same video but with the Twitch chat included, which can bring some context to it.

But Any% is pretty much dead after this. There's not really any big milestones left for it.

Until they find a new glitch removing a minute.

What if they play on the night the clocks go back? They could get into the minus numbers!

It's really just further refinement now.

At this point they would need to find a substantial glitch to make any big headway and I think one of the appeals of Super Metroid Any% running is that the glitches used aren't horrendous, out of bounds style game skips, but a variety of basically skill based techniques (Spike suit, moonfall etc). Beyond that it's still very much about skill.

Yeah there were a few points where it seems like it could be optimised slightly more, but that run was damn near flawless

I’ll be surprised if we see it before 2022.

We know development started end of 2018/start of
2019 yet I saw some people elsewhere predicting it for E3.

That would be because they forgot Nintendo restarted development because bandai Namco messed it up.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I’m not sure if it’s been posted but Andy O’Neill, Lea Engineer of Prime 1 and 2 passed away this week.

He was now Vice President of Bluepoint games and I had wondered if, given they are remaster specialists (and have an unannounced project), they would turn out to be behind the Prime Trilogy HD-if it’s real of course.

He was only 47 too.

Can confirm.

Also, heat permitting, I'll be on streaming some more Metroid Prime 2 via Dolphin tonight about 8pm if anyone wants to pop in.

Victor can attest to how lovely the Prime games look when they're upscaled. :datass:

Upscaled Prime :datass:

I got frustrated with how bad my GameCube looked on my modern TV when I've been playing Prime 1 recently so I gave up on the real thing and switched to playing on Dolphin, it looks absolutely beautiful at times!

The first game* runs so well on Dolphin now as well, it used to be a bit of a mess on there but the progress the emulator has made has been hugely impressive. Ubershaders really seem to have made a massive difference!

*I assume the sequel does as well but I've not tried it yet!
