Seems a bit random when it's like "Oh hey we have intel, you should probably go here".

Without that, I'd get horribly lost all the time. I think it does it when you've been in the "wrong" area for an amount of time.

Yeah, I think that's it as it always seems to be miles away!

Bollocks. Jumped straight into the ice beam forgetting to scan it first. I mean I've probably missed other things but bollocks.

Hmmm. Seemed to blaze through collecting a bunch of items there. Grapple, X-ray, Plasma and Flamethrower all in quick succession.

Just used up all my missiles trying out the flamethrower though  :fp:

The Flamethrower was probably the most useless upgrade in the game. By the time you're able to unlock it, most enemies are far more quickly and efficiently dealt with by other means. Had they granted you it early on, it might have proved useful against the insectoid enemies, the small exploding plants, but not when your big threats are flying Space Pirates, Metroids and the like.

I always get it anyway though, for the obsessive 100%er in me.

I'm not sure I ever knew there was a flamethrower.

Also there's no shame in turning up screen brightness.
