:toot:

Windjammers on PS continues to be one of my favourites, and so I am hyped that WJ2 has been announced for PS4.

Hate to sound like a broken record  but I am NOT liking those graphics. And so once again I hope Dotemu include a pixel fx alternative.

I have enjoyed the first one on Switch. It's a nice little diversion. This looks great and I will almost certainly get it.

I've been a fan of Windjammers for a long time but I only really started playing it regularly this year on Fightcade. It's a remarkable game.

Last year's summer demo was promising but the online play just wasn't there. I don't think I had a single match that wasn't a stutter fest. February's demo however introduced rollback netcode and was a huge improvement so as far as I'm concerned they've solved the game's biggest problem. Very eager to see what further progress they've made since then with the beta tomorrow.

Good doc. Pretty cool that they got the nod of approval from the original team. That they also got the original composer back to do the sequel's music would explain why it's so strawberry floating good. In the words of G. Scott, "RIGHT ON!" 8-)

And it’s out. Picked it up on Steam.

Edit: guy in my first ranked match was gooseberry fool to start with but completely turned it around. Fuming. Online is fantastically solid though.

This has a lot more moves than the old one.

Played 3 games online. Lost both of the ranked matches :x They were close though  :x

Lost my first ranked match. :dread: On a 20 match unbeaten spree since. 8-)

I've only had one dodgy match in terms of lag. Even when the pings are high it still feels solid.

Yeah. Had no issues with lag.

My one gripe so far about the game in general: how activating power bar pauses the game for a moment.

The pause is a bit of an adjustment from the first game for sure but I've gotten so used to it now I honestly forgot it wasn't like that in the original.

Lost your first private match too mate and don’t you forget it.

Anyway, it only appears to let you have private games within a single platform, so it’s a good thing I got it on Steam, but I need some people on Xbox to stomp when I’m playing on the TV so hit me up at pyxl8#7778 on XBL

Got obliterated by the CPU on easy.

Looked into the tutorial stuff and honestly, there's way too much complexity. They need to update it with letting you try these things, I'm sure they will.

Ignore jumping moves, right button specials (attack and defence) and countering specials with a special for now.

Get some wins by learning how to time tossing the disc above you just before catching a reception > staying under it to charge up > and then unleashing a special or a power lob. (Power lobbing into a corner is all but guaranteed points.)

Slap and drop shot are new to this game but easy to use in the game. Slap is super effective on early easy opponents.

Maybe Windjammers 3. I haven’t seen the online player could ever exceed 900. :(

For the fact that over 25 million people have it through Gamepass, it’s not doing well at all.

I don't understand how the player count is so low really. There's been barely any advertisement but you'd think more people with Gamepass would be trying it out. The lack of tutorial or training mode might have put people off who did download it.

I've never played any of the earlier games but have been enjoying this so far, it seemed to click with me last night and I'm more comfortable with the various shot types and have a better idea of when to use them. I could see the game being one I regularly play, but I'm not sure the numbers suggest it's going to have much of a player base and I imagine the ones that do stick with it are going to be of a very high skill level.
