The release preview is now out, I'm on the beta channel and have it but it is labeled "release preview" so I presume it is both beta and release preview channels.
First impressions, how strawberry float it sucks. It has so so so many annoying as strawberry float bugs and annoyances that will take some getting used to.
Here is what I have found so far.
1. Context menus for Start menu, open apps and start menu icons, web pages (open in new tab, save image etc.) open below the window unless you change a registry setting to make the menus run in classic mode (
https://winaero.com/how-to-enable-full- ... indows-11/)
2. The start menu is bloody massive! Its so unbelievlely thick and it hurts, you can't resize it, you can auto hide it, but it also unhides under your windows unless you do the fix in item 1 above.
3. UAC is a disgrace. Clearly a dev half remade it and then got distracted by something as it doesn't say "Yes" and "No" as the button options as in Windows 10, instead it says "Remember Me" and "C", the window title is just "O" and it doesn't remember gooseberry fool as it asks each time like Windows 10. Oh and it defaults to "C" for Cancel so if your used to auto-piloting UAC you now can't
4, Start pins sort of suck. I used Tiles and they are gone, you can pin stuff but it is an unorganised list as you can't group pins, give headings, folders, nothing, just a load of pinned stuff, and if you had tiles on Windows 10 when you upgrade that is all one and replaced with a bunch of default guff you have to remove one at a time.
So so far, it sucks, its nippy and looks nice but holy strawberry float its a buggy ass mess.
