oh and
how many buttons do macs have nowadays? still only one is it?
No, the Mighty Mouse has four buttons plus the scroll ball, which can be pressed, too.
oh yeah, so does the mouse on my work pc. which ive had for ages... is this a new feature for macs or something thet theyre gonna charge you through the nose for? the iMouse or something?
Believe it or not, a Mac has a USB port and guess what? You can plug whatever mouse you like into it and have as many buttons as your fingers can click.

Remind me - how much will the new Xbox 360 dashboard cost me? And how much did the iPhone/iPod Touch software upgrade to access the Apps Store cost?
Nice tangent there. I don't agree with the iPhone paid-for software updates, I don't understand the logic behind them (having accounts that require they charge money...hmmm). I think it's ridiculous profiteering, and Apple seems to always get away with this gooseberry fool while Microsoft would be dragged through every court known to man if they tried it on.
You could make that comparison with anything, though. How much will this apple cost me? And how much did that lovely orange cost me earlier on?
If you're looking for people who will defend OS X to the hilt, well, I'm not sure Carlos has posted in here yet. You're only going to find reasoned logic in the rest of us.
