Looking forward to it; hopefully it will make applications like StartIsBack and Start8 unnecessary.

Please please, MS, don't find some way to strawberry float this up.

They have. :fp:

Why don't they just put the strawberry floating start menu back? Why are they so determined to make us accept that gooseberry fool apps thing?

The important things seems to be there - the list of recently used/commonly used programs, the power options, the search bar, not needing to click another tile to get back to your desktop. If they could drop the stupid full-screen apps that are awkward to close and switch between without a touchscreen, we'd be golden.

As long as I'm not forced to use it, I don't care.

Basically, I want Windows 7, but faster.

I believe that with this new start menu the metro apps will be able to run in the desktop like legacy apps also with the april update they will all have a big x in the corner like wp8 has at the moment but which ironically i think will get the ability to drag apps down to shut them like windows 8 in the wp8.1 update....lol its all getting a bit confusing!

Sounds interesting. This might be what gets me to move to Windows 8.

Just move to it now, and download StartIsBack. It is just like windows 7 then, but faster.

You can get around that by downloading proper programs.

Don't be mental, if there is a small feature of of a whole OS you don't like the obvious thing is to bitch about it forever and never move to it as that way you can never be proved wrong about then being ignorable.

you can unpin the apps so you have a normal star stop being an angry tit and use your brain.

This isn't the old menu it is an step forward but not the leap they had, you can use like the old bar or pin apps to it.

They arnt forcing you to use apps you can remove them if you want but it is an option.

Things move on this is the next step, it is a good medium between old and new.

Why don't you wait and use before declaring it gooseberry fool.

Or just ignore it and install start8 and cry like a baby that Microsoft should have just re-released 7 with a new boot animation which by the sounds of it is the only thing that would make you happy.

Visiting the country my ex-girlfriend lives, she wants to meet up and meet my new girlfriend.

I would like to see my ex, have done before when I visit her country as we're still friends but this is while I was single.

Good or bad idea?
