What is the difference between Vista Business and Vista Home/Basic? Does Business still have apps like Windows media player?

I'm not too bothered about that. Anyhow I found out Windows Media Player 11 is available on Vista but it doesn't matter now as I opted to buy a laptop rather than a replacement desktop.

Will be getting a Dell Precision M6400/ Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz/ 4GB RAM/ 250GB HDD/ 17" WUXGA/ 1GB Nvidia Quadro FX3700M/ Vista Business laptop for a little under £1500 incl. VAT & shipping.

I thought that was a pretty sweet deal and a steal compared to the prices Dell charge for the same system.

What on earth are you going to be doing to make use of a 1.5k laptop??
