It was available to actually pick-up yesterday, Chris? I don't think that's a general approach as it's still marked as "pre-order" on their website. I wonder if anyone was able to buy it?

Yep, it was on a display near the entrance to the store (there is a designated entertainment section upstairs too). There was no indication that it was pre order only, so perhaps put out in error.

I'm sure SimplyGames were dispatching over the weekend, too. Seems the release date has got a little confused.

I did, too. Went for the £25 standard option. This is a lot of game for £25. Great value.

I wonder if the game will have online options that enable you to race a group of friends? It'd be cool if we could have some GRcade races.

I would expect so, i'll definitely pick it up if Wipeout Wednesdays become a thing.

What are your go-to teams? I'm partial to Harimau myself, but me and my mate made it to Phantom level in the campaign using Icarus.

What's the reception been so far? Good reviews and that?

Well that seals the deal then. Guess i'll get it on PSN later using cdkeys.com's discounts for store credit.

Just had the midnight launch play... brilliant stuff! Slick graphics, super music and tough-but-addictive gameplay. It's wonderful to have Wipeout back!

Edit: The bonus dynamic theme is excellent; one of the best that I've seen (or heard).

Received my physical copy yesterday. This is excellent, anyone who has liked Wipeout previously must buy this as it's lush and slick as hell. Massive upgrade graphically and so smooth on the pro

I just had a quick race and as someone who a) never had a PS1 and b) hasn't really ever played wipeout this is quite something. I look forward to going fast.

Can you enable the 4K mode on a 1080p TV?

I don't think so, Dragon. I had a look through the menus and there isn't a lot for setup; I'm assuming that resolution and stuff is set automatically depending upon what screen you're using.

I played on a 1080p screen and it looked lovely, though.

Mine arrived from Amazon today. No PSone sleeve (though the standard box is very nice) but it does come with the steel book separately.

Will be playing on a 4K TV with a standard PS4, though at least I'll be able to take advantage of HDR.

I've let my Plus sub lapse though, so no playing online. The games Sony have been giving away on PS4 recently have been of no interest to me whatsoever.
