I'm really excited for this. I'd kinda forgotten just how much I'd enjoyed HD/Fury on the PS3; it was the first videogame that I played online and it was such a rush. The commentary on this vid is great; the footage is only in 480p but it still gives a good flavour of the action.

Roll on the "summer"!

So, just two months to go :toot: . This is a game that I'm gonna be getting pretty hyped for. I barely played any of the earlier titles in the series but I did grow to love HD / Fury. Starting out, things can be tricky and I found that you have to put a bit of time in to get used to the controls and track layout. Once you become more comfortable, though, it builds up to become a very competitive game. *So* stylish, too.

Is there a way to play wipeout without weapons? I love the aesthetic and speed but find the missiles rile my purist tastes for going fast.

Also if Sony did a Motorstorm HD collection i'd be there day strawberry floating one.

+1 for a Motorstorm collection.

You can play the multiplayer with weapons off but I don't think there's any way to do the single-player campaigns sans weapons.

I don't normally go for HD remakes and that but a Playstation isn't a PlayStation without some form of Wipeout on it, so imma have to get this.

They were already in HD. These are ports.

4K, if you're on Pro.

2048 wasn't. And these are being remastered in 4k

I'm not usually a fan of ports but, for Wipeout, I'm happy to make an exception. I miss playing the PS3 version and I'm eager to get back onto the track.

I don't have a Pro. Or a 4k tv. But the idea of 4k Wipeout makes me want both.

I'd like to see a Motorstorm collection too. Being late to the PS3 party the series largely passed me by but I loved the PSP game.

I like the idea of Wipeout on PS4 but not sure if I'd buy it. I always get stuck part way through Wipeout games and never finish them.

With HD / Fury, I barely played the campaign - I stuck with the online mode. It was fast, furious and great fun! As with most racers, learning the tracks is key. The more I thInk about it, the more I want to give the game another go.

Yes! We played WipeOut 2097 on linked PlayStations for hours on end at university, but we mainly stuck to the Valparaiso track. We all knew it so well that it made for the best, most intense races.

It's not absolutely clear, Dual, but I *think* they've replaced the original track line-up with new stuff... but from groups of that era.

Sony XDEV Europe wrote:...we’ve also added 28 licensed music tracks from famous musical artists. Pilot your favourite ships to killer tunes from Swedish House Mafia, Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy.

It's sure gonna sound sweet :toot: .

Put my pre-order in as I do love Wipeout and it's exactly the kind of game I like to pick up for half an hour on the TV. Does it have split screen multiplayer?

It sure does, Tragic - two-player split screen.

The only slight disappointment is that the brilliant PS3 "Fury" menu background isn't included for some reason. Ah well, the rest of the game looks terrific!
