WipEout Omega Collection (PS4/PSVR) - VR demo out now

WipEout is back!
Known for its blistering speed, iconic music, and pure multiplayer mayhem, WipEout has appeared on every PlayStation format since 1995 — and it’s now set to rip through the air on PS4 and PS4 Pro.
The WipEout Omega Collection brings together all of the anti-gravity racing track and ship content from WipEout HD, Fury, and 2048. All three are remastered and they look stunning in dynamic 4K and HDR, running at a targeted 60 frames per second.
There are nine modes available in total:
- Zone, Tournament, Speed Lap, Time Trial, and Single Race from HD
- Zone Battle, Eliminator, and Detonator from Fury
- Career Mode from 2048
This spans more than 26 unique tracks and 46 unique ship models, which sees the return of all of your favorite ship manufactures. Play with your friends, either with split-screen local multiplayer, or online with up to eight Anti-gravity Racing league pilots.
With graphics that have been enhanced to take advantage of 4K displays, WipEout has never looked so good — but we haven’t just focused on visuals. We’ll have an all-new, thumping soundtrack for you to race with, featuring a few classics as well as tracks from the hottest up-and-coming artists. WipEout Omega Collection is a feast for both your eyes and ears.

I went to get a drink when they announced this and thought they were on about destiny racing. Whose idea was it to talk about those two games back to back.

I love Wipeout but I just don't see what they can add to HD and Fury that will make it a worthy upgrade from the the PS3 games. They were already 1080P (pretty much).
Had it been a remake of Wipe3out instead then I'd be much more excited for it.

Glad to see they've pumped up the poly-count and textures resolution.
2048 has a more grimy/rusty look similar to the original, looking forward to seeing the tracks.
From what I'm reading it sounds like all the tracks/ships are combined into a single game rather than going the Mario All-Stars route.

EDIT: I must admit, watching the Gameplay footage I kind of dislike how sterile it all is. Maybe it's hardware limitations, but everything felt really gritty and "worn" in the original Wipeout games.

You'll enjoy WipEout 2048 and its tracks carried over to Omega Collection...

I'd probably get this for the soundtrack alone. It's a great game to just zone out and get some kicks.
Should go back to the ps3 game I got basically free courtesy of Knoyleo.
