FULL RULES OF WOLF MAFIA
All active players form the Village. Publicly, every member of the village claims to be a Human.
However, a secret informed minority are actually Wolves, who report to the Dogfather. They are the Wolf Mafia, and every night, they kill other villagers.
The goal of the game for the Humans is to identify and kill the Wolf Mafia. The goal for the mafia is to outnumber and defeat the uninformed majority.
If the game is not won by the Humans by the conclusion of play on Friday 13th, the Wolf Mafia are victorious.
Likewise, if their living pack equals or outnumbers the remaining living Humans, the Wolf Mafia take over the village and win the game.
Every day, by 9pm, the thread must publicly elect a Mayor.
Anyone holding the position of Mayor is immune from all kills while they hold that position.
No one can be mayor on consecutive occasions.
The mayor must nominate two other players who will face that day's lynch.
All other players then vote via PM to me who they wish to lynch.
The mayor can also choose for there to be no lynch.
Once their choice is named publicly it cannot be changed.
The sooner the mayor publicly states their choice, the longer the other villagers have to vote.
Once a player submits a decision to me via PM (be it a lynch vote, wolf kill or any other action), that decision is irreversible.
Voting for the lynch closes at 8am the following day.
At this point I will announce in the thread who has been lynched and their true nature.
Any hidden roles (including the members of the Wolf Mafia) will then have until 5pm to submit their decisions to me.
At this point I announce the outcomes of any decisions taken, and the cycle begins again.
Though a mayor's term only ends upon official election of a new mayor, the public campaigning of, and voting for, new mayors can take place at any time.
In the unlikely event that a vote for Mayor is tied at 9pm, the position will go to the first person who can attain a clear and visible public majority in the thread to be Mayor after 9pm (i.e. we go on until someone wins, either through a new voter having their say, or someone switching an existing vote to a different candidate).
Please note: weekends will form part of an ''extended session" linking Friday to Monday and won't see the game operate in its regular format.
So usually the sequence of deadlines is: village elects mayor 9pm at night, village lynches a mayor's nomination 8am the next morning, hidden roles submit moves deadline 5pm later that day.
On a weekend the sequence of deadlines is: hidden roles deadline 5pm Friday as usual, village elects mayor by 9pm Saturday, village lynches a mayor's nomination 8am Monday morning, then on as usual.
This means that in total, the game will last for 13 'days', and if not won by Friday 13th, the Wolf Mafia win by default.
(Role numbers have been deliberately adjusted to give both sides a fair chance of winning the game in the time allowed.)
All players get one vote each in mayor elections and lynch votes.
All roles are randomly assigned.
You may not share your role PM.
You may not share print screens of any PMs you send or receive in relation to this game.
You may not post when dead.
If you do any of the above three things, you'll be booted out of the game instantly, and I reserve the right to ask the mods to do worse to you as punishment.
Sharing your role PM verbatim, screenshots etc is forbidden because it's a guaranteed way to confirm your role to another player with the same role - and therefore defeating the very point of the game.
However, this doesn't mean you're not allowed to reveal your true identity to others, either via PM or publicly.
If you do choose to reveal yourself, you're basically not allowed to prove it. But you're allowed to describe your role, to paraphrase it, and so on.
Likewise, you're also allowed to pretend to be something you're not, if for whatever reason you wish to...
The Wolf Mafia can initially make three kills each day.
This number decreases by one each time they lose a team member.
However, this number will never decrease below zero.
If the Dogfather is killed, the wolves will mourn for a day, meaning they would miss the subsequent day's kills.
