So, last night was the first time I didn't protect Mommy. Sorry Mommy, it was a somewhat desperate attempt to gain any sort of information!
What does Mommy dying tell us?
- Despite the kill announcement coming in at 5pm, like yesterday, it wasn't because of wolf inactivity. They aren't inactive - they chose to target Mommy.
- They probably targeted Mommy thinking he would be protected by myself, as he has been up till now. I have no indication (not even to Mommy!) that this wouldn't be the case.
- I think there is some mechanism forcing the wolves to attempt to make kills. From page 2, before the game began, I asked about the kind of situation we find ourselves in:

This might make "never kill anyone" a viable (and boring) wolf strategy. They could simply run down the clock, giving the village nothing to work with and keeping the chance of being lynched at random as low as possible.
It also lessens the effectiveness of any doctor saves (or other blocked kills) somewhat, although it doesn't invalidate them.
Without giving too much away, I've factored this in to the setup.
By targeting players who the wolves expect to be protected, they can probably get around whatever rule is in place making the wolves pick a target. Technically they are picking a target, but one that keeps getting protected, so they can't be punished for that.
If that is the case, as Mommy's death would support, it does leave this open question:

Only one person (Mommy) was protected by myself, so I would have expected one kill to have happened at least.
