It wasnt difficult to do once I was able to set my position as a seer. The seers would seer me and then we could link up. We caught all the normal wolves too with days to spare. I almost had TAP via PM - it was there right in front of me and I let it slide. I agree though, the protection circle made the game cliquey. Would I have come out with no protection role? Probably not, but I chanced it and ORKN played the game brilliantly, keeping me a little less frantic than i could have been. I might post some PMs later if I get a moment.

Didn't you come out on Day 1? So you had no idea if there was a protection role or not

Yeah, it's an unfortunate flaw in the game that the optimal way to play for a human victory does involve that sort of clique behind the scenes, particularly in this game where there were so many special roles. Had the humans won it would've made you the MVP tbf.
I think any future games run should move away from the standard format if possible and look at ways that make it more fufiling and enjoyable for people without special roles to play. A game without PM's or with differences to the mayoral system, that sort of thing could make it much more interesting.

I hoped there was. On day 1, with nothing to go on, there was a good chance to get Mayorship - something was better than nothing. I felt it important to let the choice of candidates for lynching to be by public vote. This way the Mayor role became less important as long as the mayor carried out the will of the people. It also made it easier to keep me safe. People generally didnt mind who went in as long as they had a say in who died.

I am generally a low poster in these games, preferring to absorbe the info and make decisions.
this was the first time playing as a wolf along with VlaSoul and PPM. Luckily we had TAP and Sykes as our more experienced memebers.
I was actually very lucky i didnt get taken out or exposed with the inactive kills
Was your research on who was sending PMs what led the wolves to kill Preezy? Or had the fact he was a seer been leaked to one of you already? If the former then well played!
it was me PM watching.
we knew then that Preezy and Mommy were suspect
cant believe I also had TNAG in my sights he just posted fewer than those two.
Yeah ya bastard, that worried me to hell when you did that post and included my PMing - I was telling Dan who to seer that day.
As soon as I got my role PM I knew I was going to use my "power" no matter what. Even if the Humans got off to a good start and it was looking like they would win easily, I would have still used it. They didn't get off to a good start, though. No Wolves dead in the first few days, only dead Humans and a dead Seer. So, I PM'd Dan after a couple of days to declare myself for the Wolves. Now, I needed to come up with a plan.
The plan was simple: Chaos. Chaos, everywhere. For the Humans, the Seers, the Wolves (remember, the Wolves had no idea about my role whatsoever, before or after I declared for them). What's the best way to cause chaos? Throw into question the way that the basics of the game work.
I took some of Dan's clues and purposely spun them to create a "Broken Seer" role. You may recall I mentioned stuff about this pretty early on, asking to be seered, days before I was killed. I had to make it look like I was willing to die to prove my "theory". I was suggested for lynching by a couple of players. Just a hunch, I imagine, as I was purposely not becoming too active or too inactive so not to arouse suspicion.
Then, the 2 things I needed to happen, happened:
1) I was seered; 2) I returned as a Wolf, not a Human.
I reposted my theory and added some bits and pieces to it. I didn't think it would gain any traction whatsoever; I wanted it to look like a desperate Wolf ploy so I would be killed and people were as convinced as possible that I was a Wolf. I got a few votes for Mayor, but it soon fizzled out and I was destroyed by Mommy. Mommy, who was 100% convinced I was a Wolf...just what I wanted.
I then died. I flipped Human. Everybody was confused, and it was perfect. The Seers doubted themselves. Nobody could no longer fully trust the seered list, even though I was the only player who would show as a Wolf when they technically weren't (well, that's what I thought as I was told it was a unique role, but it seems there were 3 of us).
Fun game overall. It was an interesting role to play. I do wonder what the Wolves were thinking regarding my seering/death. Things would have got VERY interesting if I was seered a Human and the Alpha was killed, because I would be pretty much confirmed 100% Human in everybody's minds...
tl;dr: The game was never unbalanced or broken, I just made it look like it was. I manufactured a narrative to throw the game into chaos so the Wolves (and therefore myself) had a better chance of winning.
It’s hard for people to get engaged in these games if they don’t have a role and aren’t in the clique. Protection circles just magnify that lack of inclusion for those not in it. I can’t remember who but someone ran a game where everyone had a role, minor roles but enough to make people more interested. Obviously you can’t have multiple vigilantes and seers without ruining balance but linked roles, reactive roles etc

That post was why I PMed you. I was killed shortly after which made me very suspicious of you until you were confirmed as a seer. Seems like Kezzer was one of the MVPs of the game.

I think you're slightly overestimating your impact here tbh...
You being seered as a wolf, then being revealed as human would have thrown us regardless of anything you had or hadn't posted. The canonical word of god was that you were a vanilla human role, so suddenly nothing could be trusted. The only thing that had to happen was for a half-wolf to be seered as a wolf, not a human, which was entirely luck based. As soon as that happened, we were always going to lynch them and then always going to be thrown into chaos knowing there were unknown mechanics in play.
Yeah I know, I'm not saying I *did* have that impact, but the intention was to purposely mislead in the hopes that you Human scum would all murder one another

You did well. I was proud when you got resurrected.
The PM Exchange between me and TAP. I should have twigged on the hammed up "ARE YOU GOING TO EAT ME!?" comment but I was doing 10 things at once.
Mommy wrote: Just popping in to say hi.
You were seered last night.
TAP wrote:Hi,
I like it when people say hello. It can be awfully lonely in the village.
Can I ask what made me last night's seer choice?
Mommy wrote: Suspicion. Its always suspicion. What do you want to do next?
TAP wrote:Are you saying I was the most suspicious, not-yet-seer'd, person remaining in the game? That seems quite hard to believe considering all the madness in the thread! As for next steps: I'd ideally like to try and calm the thread down, as currently it's a lot of confused shouting that feels like it will end up with a lot of dead villagers. We've already lost one seer, we don't need to lose more special roles or waste time lynching other humans. Building confidence in your seer circle (or proving it's all some crazy elaborate wolf trap) feels like a fairly logical course of action.
Mommy wrote:Can you vote for me to be Mayor tonight?
TAP wrote:That largely depends on your lynching platform, but assuming it's not insane then mayor protection for a potential seer makes sense. That also assumes I'm not eaten by the wolves before then.
Mommy wrote:I think youll be ok tonight.
TAP wrote:What makes you think that?
"Mommy" wrote:What makes you think you wont?
TAP wrote:WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!? ARE YOU GOING TO EAT ME!?
Mommy wrote:Im a seer, why would I eat you? Why do you think you are in danger tonight?
TAP wrote:Anybody is a potential target for the wolves. If they don't like the stuff I'm saying in the thread then I could easily end up as dinner. We should always be careful.
FatDaz wrote:TAP or any wolves, can you explain why mommy survived so long despite outing himself as a seer? Was it really fear of a protection circle?
Genuinely curious. Never known a seer outed so early survive so long
The night he died was the first night it was possible for the wolves to kill him
I would've thought that gap being in contact would have been a great reason to keep him alive for a while to get info. Which, I think Drummy said he did as Alphan in a previous game.
