Following yesterday's chat, I actually did start with Adieu today. Felt a bit cheaty doing that, not sure I'll do it again.

Worth noting that it is completely free. Any apps you see are rip-offs.

Having wondered what was going on in the "annoy" thread, I just played the game for the first time!

I got the word on the fifth attempt - it was an American spelling. Tried posting the colour block result thing here but I got a "characters unsupported" error.

Got it on 6th attemp today, was tricky

I did see a few episodes of the UK version of Lingo and it is basically the same game, but I remember playing Cows and Bulls in the nineties which is basically the same game but with numbers, and Mastermind is also similar.

Yeah but the point is Wordle is free and all these apps are capitalising on the interest by copying the style, format and name (which haven't been trademarked) to monetize it. One guy literally called it Wordle and charged $29.99 for a pro version

They're being removed from app store now anyway apparantly.
