What's the worst household chore?

I'm going to suggest its laundry. It takes ages, it's a multi-stage thing process you can't just do all at once, it's very boring.

Ironing, although you can watch the telly whilst you do that.

Absolutely laundry. The multi stage process like you said is annoying and hanging clothes out mindnumbingly boring. Doing the dishes is second but I don't mind that as much.

Cooking is rewarding and taking the bins out doesn't take very long and is an easy job so definitely neither of those.

I never do vaccuming or cleaning the bathroom because we have a cleaner :shifty:

Cleaning the cat litter boxes

I think laundry has to take it. I hated it even before my toddler existed, with his endless supply of miniature socks and other items that need hanging up to dry :dread:

Of those it's cooking for sure. Takes up loads of time and it creates mess rather than solving it - all the others are at least satisfying for ending up in a better way than you started.

Giving the bathroom/toilet a proper deep clean, takes ages. Laundry is probably second. I love cooking when you have the time to take care over the prep and cooking of a meal.

Laundry.

It never strawberry floating ends. Skip a day because you can't be bothered or it slips your mind, and bam, now there's a backlog and you're behind. Awful.

I'd personally not consider cooking a real "chore" because I enjoy it, so the amount of cooking I do is by choice. If I wanted to cook less, I absolutely could, but I'd feel bad about the impact to my diet and not cooking proper meals for my family.

Laundry is fine. I live alone and can do it all in a day. It's pretty low effort tbh.

Cooking is the worst, I hate it. It's a lot of time and effort for something I don't enjoy. I hate everything connected to it, meal planning, shopping, food prep, washing up, it's all such a time drain. Thankfully because there's just me in the house I can put in minimal effort but even that's a pain. If I could get away with never doing it again I would in a heartbeat.

The everyday frequency of cooking and doing the dishes means they're the 2 I dislike doing most.

Cooking at least has a sense of satisfaction so even though it's more time consuming, I prefer that to the dullness of doing the dishes after cooking.

Doing the dishes is absolutely the worst. I'd love to cook more interesting things but the thought of having to tidy it all up afterwards is absolutely awful. It's something if you fall behind once you're strawberry floated as well.

I live alone so Laundry I just do once a week but definitely dishes is my absolute most hated thing.

Laundry, by far. It's not the putting in the machine, it's the everything after. Hanging stuff up, sorting it out/pairing things when it is dried. Putting it away. It takes forever. I used to think it was bad when I lived on my own, it's worse with two. Especially when things go missing :dread:

I like cooking, there's usually time between doing things for washing pots/utensils so it never builds up too much. Plus I get nice food at the end.

In terms of the 'worst' it's definitely toilet/bathroom cleaning. It just feels yucky, always has. Especially when you know other members of the household don't take as much care as they should.

Cooking is okay if there's someone to help. Usually if someone's put in the effort to cook, someone else will offer to clean up. Or at least help. Plus if there's two of you in the kitchen helping each other, it's a nice thing.

I would say laundry is the worst, my partner hates gross things so for her bins or declogging drains etc. Is the worst.

She pretty much takes care of all the laundry (though I have to put thr sheets back on the bed) and I did bins and drain clogs and the majority of the cooking. Since moving to the US though we have a garbage chute in the hallway so bins is super easy now 8-)

. We have a ground floor communal laundry room which isn't as bad as it sounds as we have an app to show how many are free and you can use more than one machine at once (and don't have the noise in your flat). Plus separate washers and dryers are way better than combo ones.
