As per the title, I've just got a Samsung galaxy tab s2 and having been bound and gagged by the apple ecosystem for years, I'm not really up on what you can do with them.

Any app recommendations? Do I need any additional security with these?

You don't need extra security. Just don't download things from places you don't know / don't go onto dodgy sites

This. I get a survey a week, usually get about 30p worth of credit for answering silly questions. I love it. Free money.

I find that a lot of the apps on my phone that came preinstalled fit a lot of my needs anyway. The calendar app, the alarm clock one, the Music player, would be lost without those three.

I don't see why not.

It should do as long as you're signed in to the Play Store with a google account.

I only used my ipad for Internet browsing as being an ipad, it was so locked down it wasn't worth the hassle of trying anything else, but with this I can see myself using it in meetings for notes etc.

Make sure you get Office Lens in that case and set up OneNote as it is great for note taking and is free and syncs to all devices, most work office installations include OneNote I think so you can hook that up to your Microsoft account and it will sync notes automatically, if they dont have it then onenote.live.com is pretty good for accessing it all too when not on tablet.

Office lens looks good, installed.

Yeah it is really handy for taking pics of white boards and docs and things.

Firefox supports extensions including uBlock. Makes it instantly better than chrome.

I don't cram my device with apps anymore. Everything else is service dependent stuff like bank, project management etc

The ms office apps and google apps are equally good.

If you don't like the standard launcher (home screen) try NovaLauncher. I personally don't like touchwiz at all (Samsung's proprietary rubbish).

Google Keep for notes. Quite handy and syncs to your desktop.
