Could it be done? How many games are there in total and how long would it take to complete?

My brain is saying it takes longer to create a game than it does to complete one so in theory possible, but multiple games are in production at the same time so...

I'd be pretty happy to put money down on this being impossible. There are simply too many games.

Plus there are games that are broken to the point where you can't complete them anyway!

I don't know how accurate this is, but it suggests there are over 5 million games in existence.

Good luck completing them all!

Sounds like someone's backlog has got a bit out of hand then.

No, the seer number of games that have been released is insurmountable. There are over 50k games on steam alone, then you haver to factor in games such as Minecraft, Eve online ect with no real objective and have to work out when you have "completed" them.

Yeah, plenty of simulators out there that have no end point. How would you consider something like Farming Simulator complete, for instance? Total conquest of the map by buying all the fields/lands? Plenty of games would have an end point, but for plenty of others you would definitely have to set your own point. In which case, someone could say you haven't completed it as you haven't done certain things.

I would definitely say no. And of course at some point you'd have to face E.T. on the Atari 2600...

Where does the definition of a game stop? Are we including phone games? Browser games? Tiger handhelds? Barcode Battlers?

I think you could probably have a decent stab at completing all the games for one system, maybe two.

When you look at the amount of terrible shovelware out there, and hentai visual novels, you have to wonder just how awful an experience having to play through all of those would be.

Even Rage 2? Bugged out on me towards the end. It’s the only one I need.

Or… agree it’s impossible. You have to cut it by date somehow. 2020 onwards, or 2010 onwards. Do it by decade?

Even limiting the question to Steam games, SteamDB suggests there are currently about 400 games being released a week on Steam. There are 168 hours in a week. That means you only have 25 minutes to finish each game if you want to keep up with current releases, and that doesn't even leave any time to sleep or eat.

To finish every single Steam game you have to make time on top of that to clear the backlog of over 50,000 games already out on Steam.

Seems pretty tough but I think Jawa can do it :toot:
