PostXbone game not showing in Ready to Install
by False » Sat Oct 03, 2015 1:59 pm

My dad bought GTA 5 from one of those online keysites and the delivery method was adding a new profile to the xbox and the game is associated with that.

All worked fine until he removed his external drive, when the game just showed that it needed an update all the time and wouldnt install. He uninstalled it to put a fresh install on there but now the game is gone completely and it isnt showing on Ready to Install. If you browse to it in the store it says it costs £54.99 rather than its already owned.

As I say, worked fine until external drive was removed. Cant seem to find any download history on the dashboard either to download from there.

Ideas?

That sounds super dodgy and presumably against the terms of service.

Are you trying to download it using the account that you bought?

Is the dodgy account set to make your Bone the home Xbox or whatever it's called?

Someone is basically selling access to their account which I'm almost 100 percent sure is against the terms of service.

Your dad has been scammed by the sounds of it.

Edit: £54.99 for a download game, strawberry floating HELL! seriously why do people accept these prices? I'm actually fairly glad I can't use a console any more as PC games are so much cheaper.

Nah from what I can see this is how most of these alternate console keysites work

I wouldnt buy it myself, but as I said it worked fine until the external drive was removed.

Sorry False m8, that does sound like how Ironhide described it; you say yourself you add a new account to the bone that has the game added to it. Also £55? surely you could get a disc copy for way less than that by now?

It's £39.99 on Amazon but it's probably cheaper elsewhere.

Not sure about 'most keysites', if you use CDkeys or someone like that they give you a legit download code to get with your own account. Selling an account with a game on it is dodgy as strawberry float, totally against the MS's terms and liable to get you banned. See it quite a lot on eBay, scrotes trying to make an easy dollar.
