When buying games from a different store, do I just use my normal account, but, use a credit card instead of a Debit card?

Or anyone have a link to the info on what I do exactly? I did Google it but saw stuff about buying credit.

I can't speak for the Xbone, but I have a UK credit/card but have a Japanese PS4 and am living in Japan at the moment.

As I set my region to the UK when I first created my User, it automatically gives me the UK store, with UK prices etc. I get all the sales you guys get and, apart from the annoying switchover of O and X (a cultural thing here) my console is to all intents and purposes a UK one.

When I want to buy from the Japanese store, I switch to the Japanese user I created. I can't use my UK credit or debit card, and must purchase Japanese PSN credit. This is easy enough as the local stores sell the cards, but a non-resident would need to get them from the Internet.

I bought Bloodborne on the US store a while back. Again, I created a User for the console for America. If I remember correctly, I didn't need to do anything more than set my country when asked.

I had to find somewhere that sold US credit online, as using my UK pay pal or cards didn't work. In the end, I think I bought some from a website online. Sometimes you do need a US address but there are sites out that that randomly give you one, and most Credit websites just email you the code.

Buying one game on one of my accounts gives me it across all my Users. So I just access them from my normal UK account, once I have used the different ones to buy stuff.

But I can only seemingly use my UK cards on my UK account, on the console itself. I can use them to buy credit online for various regions.

One last thing, if you are buying games from different regions, the DLC must match. I have Japanese Destiny and while it is region free and exactly the same as the UK version, I stupidly bought some DLC from the UK store and it didn't work.

This advice may be useless if the two consoles are the same...

MS have almost blocked buying from other regions now. You can switch regions in the settings and view another country's sales and prices, but you can't use a UK card to buy anything.

In order to purchase, you need to change your addres to one in the country you're buying from (just look online for the address of a Uni or something).

As they won't let you use your Credit Card you'll need go to Amazon and purchase an Xbox gift card for the amount of money you want to spend.

If you're buying from the US, make sure you set your address to a state which doesn't have sales tax (Oregon) otherwise it'll try and charge you VAT at the point of sale.

this is what i do.

1/ Switch Xbox to US and leave it on US for no other reason than its quicker to access US store.

2/ Went to https://www.offgamers.com and signed up.

3/ Added instant delivery dollar Xbox or PS4 cards to my basket.

4/ Selected pay with PayPal and paid for the items.

5/ Got redirected back to https://www.offgamers.com.

6/ Wait a few seconds, then refreshed the page for my order to update.

7/ Click on purchase which opens the code and i copy it. If multiple cards, then copy/paste for each one.

8/ In separate Tab. I go to Xbox.com and sign in.

9/ Went to the bottom of the page, left hand corner and clicked on the region (was showing UK) and changed it to USA.

10/ Clicked on my avatar at top of screen ( right side) clicked redeem code.

11/ Pasted in my code and added the dollars to my account. Repeat Redeem if more than one code.

I then use the USA Xbox store / Xbox.com store / smartglass store to buy the games i want. A £59.99 game on the UK store is around £40 on the US store.

I don't think this is true. I bought EA Access the other day from the Hungarian store using my UK debit card. Just used a Hungarian address. I think what matters is that whoever your card is with doesn't care if you use a different billing address.

Generally, I prefer to buy from the Singapore store though. You can buy credit from the Singapore Microsoft store online in SG$50 and SG$20 denominations. Most full RRP games cost SG$70 (~£32) and you can buy the codes using PayPal. The games also unlock earlier.

They had a deal on credit a few weeks ago so I got Halo 5 for £27 and it should unlock tomorrow at 3PM UK time (midnight Singapore). If you buy from the US store, you're locked into their launch time which is actually after ours, apparently.

This website is useful for finding out which region has games the cheapest.

I only have a Debit card and it's with Barclays and I'm sure they'll be fannies about using a fake address.

If you ever want to buy from the US Store, Target do digital cards that you can pay for with Paypal. Just in case unknown websites are a concern as Target are huge.

I'm with HSBC and haven't been able to do so in the past. Took all of five minutes to try though, and it worked, so worth a shot. Got a year of EA Access for £14.
