Tafdolphin wrote:The Last Night. Pixelart adventuregame trailered by MS last year. It immediately came out that the one man dev was an ardent GGer and the game was an expansion of a GameJam game of his that was based on libertarian, mens-rights viewpoints.

We had a large debate last year about the separation of author and creation, but when the game is specifically based on his abhorrent views that argument collapses. In my opinion.

The game looked great tbf, but, I did not realise it was a game based on feminism being the downfall of the planet. That's just strawberry floated up tbh.

You're forgetting Inside Xbox @ E3 at 23:00, where there's set to be even more reveals.

Big games don't get revealed on Inside Xbox, I know Bohemian's new game is on tonight but I'd be very surprised if Fable 4 is on it. At most it'll be the logo.

I think that's the most you could probably expect anyway. Unless they're treating this Inside as part 2 of the briefing.

I expect they'll be no mention of Fable to at least E3 2019, probably E3 2020.

Didn't they only just start work on it about a year ago?
If so I wouldn't be surprised if it's next gen as I don't think 2 or 3 years is long enough for a decent reboot of such a large franchise.

Agreed. Announce E3 2020, out late 2021.

There was a thread about it on resetera last week. I’m pretty sure it’s still in development, just taking a while. I wanted to see it too because it looks quality. I imagine the controversy is why MS didn’t want it in their conference though.

I think the guy appeared at the PC Gaming Show last year so outside shot it might appear there.

Was that when he tried to apologise and the host shut him down?

Was there anything else about the Adaptive Controller in the MS conference?

I don't believe so, Ironhide, although I did notice one as being pretty visible when one guy was playing a game.

That was a great little nod that I'm sure was most appreciated by many.

Microsoft impresses with its tenacity and honesty at E3

Xbox refuses to play next-gen poker.

It was a great show, moving at a brisk clip, unburdened with cringeworthy banter, peppered with noteworthy announcements and premieres, and positively stuffed with games: 50 of the things, a lot of them looking rather good. Just as significantly, it felt addressed to Xbox gamers directly, rather than pundits, analysts and stakeholders.

But perhaps more importantly, Microsoft's E3 2018 media briefing was straight-talking - almost shockingly so for an E3 presser. It didn't pretend that Xbox doesn't have a weakness in exclusive games, and it had a long-term solution to propose. It talked about the future and it addressed the elephant in the room - the distant but quite clearly audible rumblings of an approaching new console generation - with candour and confidence, and without seeking to pull the wool of the eyes of the console-buying audience, or to use the information, or lack of it, as a strategic chip in the battle with its rival, PlayStation.

That really came through as an ex Xbox fan.

Phil, for the first time, came across as concise and genuine.

It was yet more Halo, Gears and Forza, but 2 years away from next gen it seems like Microsoft are finally getting it's ducks in a row. Really looking forward to what The Initiative produce.

I got an email from PDP today about them, ordering one and the different adapters.

Good luck getting them in the UK though :dread:
