I thought it was a great show and they hinted at a new generation console so I'm happy.

Gears 5 looks strawberry floating great, can't wait. Forza Horizon looked lovely. Gears X-Com...Yes please. Did they show Halo? I missed some of the start and watched some on the Mixer app on my phone before switching back to the Xbox.

Can’t wait for Horizon 4 on Gamepass.

Dissapointed with no Halo Infinite info but new engine looked impressive.

The studio acquisition stuff was impressive, everything they make will be on Gamepass. He said they’d see more of playgrounds other game later. Must mean inside Xbox.

Absolutely.

Some of these game's publishers and devs need to take a look at how Sony Santa Monica and Naughty Dog do reveal trailers. I mean that God of War reveal (the actual reveal, not even the orchestra before it) where they show Kratos and then, when it can't get any better, *BAM!* on they go with gameplay! Or TLOU2 reveal where all they had was a cinematic, but it was presented in such a way that it leaves a lasting impression on all who saw it. Though clearly not on game devs and pubs!

Anyway! Highlights of Xbox '18 were Metro, Horizon 4  , Dying Light 2, NierA getting a new audience, and Ghost of Tsushima getting some samurai competition in the form of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. A shame From signed up with Acti, though. Here's hoping they're not tied into a long term deal.

I'll give them a 7.

Overall it was decent, the fact they didn't actually announce what Halo Infinite actually is was the biggest issue I think.

Horizon 4 looked amazing.

Yeah it's a 7 from me too. Loads of games but very little gameplay and not enough genuine surprises. Still enjoyed it very much though.

For MS.

Not impressed by Cyberpunk closing because it was just a cinematic. Had that been a reveal announcement, or a cinematic with 'coming late 2018' then I'd be hyped, but a cinematic? PFFT.

I know what you mean, but it was definitely in engine and not a cinematic

Apologies for the mistake. Aye, in engine cut scene, not cinematic.

An absolutely mad conference, it was honestly a dizzying array of great games on show and that is the only thing that stops it being a 10 for me. It was just too much to process, honestly just too much of a good thing. Could have done with having some of the less spectacular stuff removed and the big hitters being given more room to breathe with maybe more gameplay. If I was one of the Xbox faithful though I would be very very very happy.

Buying those studios will pay off in the next few years.

I was a tad disappointed that a few more games weren't announced for Game Pass though.

Easily the best conference Microsoft have put out in years.

Still some questions about the "exclusives" but with the acquisition of 5 studios and the confirmation that the Next Xbox is in development (Which didn't really need said) it's clear that they're really gearing up for next gen.

Loads of good looking games, some nice surprises (Dying Light 2 especially). Gamepass certainly means I'm more able to access a lot of these games as well.

Solid performance if not spectacular.

What can I say?
I'm a sucker for shiny new consoles.

Also I don't expect anything to be released until Christmas 2020 as all they did was say they're working on new hardware which will take years.

I'd say that was a solid 7.5 show. Entertaining but no megatons. I wanted to see a big exclusive that was Xbox only. Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4 were okay but they were predictable. Although Forza might be massive for being a shared world.
No Fable IV.
No VR this gen.
Buying game studios is a good move, but isn't it healthier to grow your own?
What's interesting is the cloud vision for Game Pass, expanded it so it is available across devices Xbox, PC and mobile.

Halo Infinite... the trailer didn't explain what it was but Aaron Greenberg says it is the next Master Chief game, not using numbering. Part of a 'bigger bolder vision.' He wouldn't talk about release date so this unlikely to be released in 2019 - therefore this might be a next-Xbox launch title in 2020!

Also the mention that Microsoft are working on their next console - they are telling fans to keep the faith.

You clearly have too much money, I'll take some if you like ;)

It has occured to me that MS's 2018 is looking seriously lean, Forza looks great, but strawberry float me this year has been a poor show.

I do agree it didn't have much for this year.
