.....In Japan of all places

To all customers

We truly thank you for all your patronage in the past.

Currently, the Xbox 360 is sold out, and retailers are unable to restock their supply. This is a result of our own sales targets being exceeded by the actual customer sales. We deeply apologize for this inconvenience to our customers, retailers and business partners.

Here at Microsoft, we are moving forward quickly with console production, and plan to ship the standard Xbox 360 model out this September. Furthermore, we will sequentially be shipping out the Elite and the Arcade models. We ask that you please patiently wait until the console is shipped.

We truly thank you for your patronage hereafter.

Yeah, it's all down to Microsoft's MEGA-JRPG-ASSAULT on Japan I guess. You've got to admire their tenacity and who knows? it might pay off.

Sony should seriously reconsider their no-cash-for-exclusives policy I think.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I think post-Christmas may be more realistic. :(

I'm not so sure. If MS are still planning on being in the race next gen, then having a reputation for producing good jRPG's should help a lot in the region.

Their strategy for Japan was always going to be for the long term. I'm guessing this is just one step in the right direction for them. They need to get a foothold for the next generation.

Depends how many consoles were actually over there in the first place. Be wary of spin...seems to be a lot of that recently.

You have to give credit to Microsoft for their continued effort in Japan. They've aggresivly gone after some big name Japanese RGP's and seemingly their efforts have been rewarded. Looking back at the launch titles over there and they really were quite awful in terms of games for the Japanese market. If i remember correctly, i think it was Blue Dragon that missed the launch window.
