I'd like to see an indication of the price, approximate Eurpopean release date and at least a showreel of games to give an idea of what we might expect to see. I don't even mind if its 'actual' Xbox footage, or mocked up (which is always the controversy) - at the moment I've got no clear idea how big the leap is likely to be. Perhaps some description of how it might change how games play as well - such as the practical difference it will make to the AI or ability to generate environments. A look at the final hardware itself would be good, of course. Lastly, I'd like to see them spend a couple of minutes explaining a few things like always online etc, to finally debunk the various myths/rumours that were going around.

Perhaps I'm hoping for far too much concrete stuff, though.

Maybe this will just be more about officially saying "It's on the way", and then some of that high concept vision stuff which the execs love and nobody else understands. Even if it is that, at least E3's not too far away.

I highly doubt we will see pricing, I'm expecting to see the console (unlike PS4), the controller, Kinect 2, online, TV, social features and then Call Of Duty Ghosts to round it off until E3.

A new generation revealed?

Who do these guys think they are? Sony?

Kinda really wanna see the hardware, both xboxes so far have been deliciously ugly, I actually hope they bring out one that isn't.

I kinda like the look of the 360S. It's grown on me over time.

Oskari Hakkinen, the leader of franchise development at Remedy, says that Alan Wake has become a cult video game experience and that the series has managed to move more than 2 million copies to fans.

The executive tells CVG that, “So after a slow start it’s turning into something really positive. It’s definitely had legs. I think narrative experiences just have a tendency for that.”

He adds, “People who have played and enjoyed the story feel the urge to tell their friends and other gamers out there that they need to try this experience, they need to play it.”

Alan Wake was a high-concept game that allowed the player to explore the limits of fiction and question how reality worked, while also fighting enemies using survival horror mechanics.

The two games in the series have been launched on the Xbox 360 and the PC and a new title might be linked to the next generation of devices from Microsoft.

that's cool.

I really like Alan Wake.

He is right too, I never thought anything of it, until a mate lent me it and told me to try it. I've since got atleast 2 other people playing it.

Word of mouth 8-)

Drooling at the thoughts of a next gen Alan Wake.

I was thinking the other day, wouldn't it make more sense if Xbox Infinity was the new name for the Xbox Live service? Then they can call the console itself Xbox (or the new Xbox).

Why would they change the name of Live though? Does it really need rebranding?

Depends what they are doing with it, I can see them trying to push all the general media options you get through the online service to the front, rebranding Live as Infinity might make sense.

Perhaps they can finally realise the potential the title had when it was first shown (remember that amazing video that had almost nothing to do with the final product).

The trouble with Alan Wake was that the backbone of the game i.e. endlessly trudging through a spooky forest fighting the same enemies over and over got old very quickly and much of the the game felt like padding.

It was not without merit though and the latter levels were much more interesting. Let's hope the power of next-gen allows them to bring back the scarf.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

I'm hoping for a next gen version of PGR to see what London looks like with new hardware.

I though it looked fab on the xbox so it should be pretty special on nextbox. I realise it's not exactly revolutionary but I'd love it.

Let's face it, Alan Wake was pretty bad by the time it was released. The franchise has bags of potential but they really are going to have to step up their game this time round. Walking in a straight line in the woods isn't going to cut it this time round and those facial animations :dread:

Even though we never saw much gameplay when it was in a more open world format, I would love to see Alan Wake 2 have this style of gameplay. From what I remember, the original concept was during the day you'd go about your business as normal (probably doing side missions and stuff) and then when night hit that's when the Taken would come. I'm not sure why they did end up changing it. Maybe they felt a more linear style would suit gameplay better. Regardless, despite the somewhat repetitive combat, i did enjoy Alan Wake. Definitely feel there's a lot of potential to it.

In terms of racers i'd much rather we get PGR5 as a launch title than Forza 5. It's been too long since PGR4 came out.
