What are your thoughts on PS4K/Neo?

:slol:

But its not a new generation console is it? Just seems ms hastily got this out without thinking about it. Don't they get no one will get an xbox one now and probably get a neo, and by next holiday no one will want a new console! Its all a bit of a mess imo.

It was a horrendous janky mess of a game last year. The game looked unplayable. Now it looks smooth, that's the only thing that was worrying about the game before and now it isn't.

I just did a quick google search and apparently the ps4 is 1.8 teraflops so 6 teraflops is a leap but not a genarational leap it seems.

Some others here may have better numbers and insight on this though.

I'll buy one, the s is for new buyers. Don't see the major problem, X1 is selling well, good game incoming, gives me 1.5 years to get a 4K TV!

Are we meant to be applauding the world's shortest generation? People were taking the piss when Nintendo announced NX...

Just look at current PC games basically.

Personally I thought that was pretty crap. Only thing that peaked my interest was the happy thing. Which looked like someone had modded Bioshock. Anything else was just not interesting or poorly shown. Sea of Thieves looked.......... boring. :( Looked like the interaction between people will be more enjoyable then the game itself. Dont get me started on Scorpio. Will there be a Scorpio + a few years after that? strawberry float OFF.

Oh and the character of Scalebound :dread:

Well microsoft pulled the same trick with the original xbox, so not surprised by this. I really do not think the announcement was a good idea as their brand will dwindle by next year and people will already be invested in the ps4. No one will switch consoles and sony will continue increasing their fanbase.

Also, on one hand they want to bring out a new console for hardcore gamers and on the other they release all of their exclusives on the pc.

Choice is simple, want and xbox one? Get a pc and if you want console gaming get a ps4. Nintendo are pretty finished aren't they?

1. Not actually a new generation.
2. Time between Xbox and Xbox 360 was the same in the US and shorter over here.

As long as everything still works on the base xboxone and ps4 I don't see a problem.
I can still play multiplayer games with the guys regardless of what console they own and I can have a nice shiny new console for better single player games.

The multiplayer needs to be somehow locked so people on the new machines can't gain an unfair advantage as while it would finally mean I'm not completely gooseberry fool it would suck for players with base hardware.

I think we're gonna have Wii U levels of confusion again. Is it a new console or an upgrade etc etc...

Hang on - "If you want an Xbox One, get a PC"? And then you even managed to crowbar-in a Nintendo comment! This is all pretty desperate stuff, gamerforever. I have to admit that your comments - however predictable they are - do make me laugh, though  .

Just seems like nintendo won't even have a free launch window! Whats the point of an xbox if they bring out all of their exclusives on pc? Am i missing something? Its basically a pc box.

While all games working on both machines is a good thing, I can't help but thing it's going to be a case of yeah you don't have to upgrade but you really should because after a year or so things will just run like dirt on the old console.

I don't think so, this time they actually are linked and not two completely separate consoles people have just confused for the same thing.

I think it's the opposite of what DML is implying. Scorpio and PS4k are intended to extend the generation, not shorten it.

If you only have a 1080p TV (most people) then you're all set. If you do have a 4KTV then they have a system that lets you enjoy games at that resolution.
