If only they could have gotten some JRPGs like PSO or Dragon Quest...

Yes, we're all dying to play DQXI three years later.

Remember when Mass Effect was an Xbox exclusive? Or KOTOR? Those were amazing times.

Ah yes, those famous non-Western games made in the non-Western country of *checks notes* The United States of America

I said 'at this point'. The games mentioned aren't console exclusive, hence my assertion that it's a console for people who only want Western games. There will be Western exclusives. There will not be Japanese console exclusives.

Did you understand that now?

Google suggests 2010. So, 10-11 years (maybe more) between installments counts as "constant" now?

Pick those nits!

Happy to remove Fable if you wish, but 10 years later, Microsoft's true AAA titles are all from the same four franchises. Literally nothing else has broken through. So here we are again. How are the same franchises meant to turn the tide?

So what the strawberry float are Avowed, Grounded, Everwild, Sea of Thieves, Minecraft, We Happy Few, State of Decay, Hellblade, Age of Empires, Crackdown etc?

More Outer Worlds is cool.

I liked the look of that Obsidian RPG. Looks like Skyrim.

The Rare game looks great as well.

Wasn't that fussed on the rest. But I'll still get a Series X anyway. I'm sure there will be more that excites me on it further on down the line.

There was a varied amount of content on display from multiple different studios. Just because people like Halo and Forza doesn't mean that's all they offer. That's like saying Nintendo only do Mario games.

So am I understanding this correctly? You complain at the lack of Japanese exclusives, then as an example you give two Western Xbox 360 launch exclusives, then when I point out that those are western, you double down that you meant Japanese?

Have you suffered a concussion recently?

I'd argue none are AAA or have broken through like a Horizon, Splatoon or Last of Us sales-wise, but maybe the next Hellblade will have a much bigger budget. Minecraft obviously different as it's not Xbox-exclusive.

Oh and I really liked that PSO game. Reminded me of Xenoblade X.

Sigh. There are two points in the original post.

The first is that since Xbox has never sold in Japan, there are now no Japanese exclusives or attempts at making any (after failures of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey). So if you want a Japanese exclusive title, you would be better off getting PS5.

The second point (keep up) is that there are no exciting new AAA titles (much like Mass Effect or KOTOR was back in the day) and that MS is relying on the same franchises as 10 years ago.

I'm curious as to how you know the new titles they showed off aren't AAA? They don't count because...?

Does Obsidian still own the rights to KOTOR? Or will that belong to EA now? If it’s still owned by Obsidian then why they haven’t done a third one I don’t know.

If a console doesn’t have Japanese exclusives, that means it only has Western games.

Felt pretty underwhelmed considering how much they hyped this up.

What’s happened in here then :slol:

I thought it was a solid showing overall, nothing that screamed ‘wow’ to me but a lot of cool looking games coming over the next few years it seems.

That new Image and Form game looked great!

So you want Microsoft to release new AAA titles that have already been a sales hit? What.

They were always going to have the big 3 (no idea why you're trying to put Fable with them ). And they had other new stuff. Not a bad showing at all.
