Whatever happens it's nice to feel hyped about a Halo game again. With it being on Game Pass maybe it will be like Halo 2 and you'll see your entire friends list on the game.

Rumours are Journalists got their hands on Halo today to write their previews for release on Thursday. Other rumours are that Halo MP will be F2P, could be just Warzone 2.0 will be free not Arena (a bit like COD).

That would seem like a good idea and could get more subscribers to gamepass as people play the multiplayer and fancy giving the single player a bash.

I don't know when Halo lost me exactly but I find it really hard to get excited about it now. I remember the excitement at seeing the early videos of the original from Macworld and E3 back in the day, and the adrenaline rush of the first reveals for Halo 2 and 3, but somewhere along the line it just lost the ability to grab me and get the hype going.

I get more excited by the build-up to a Halo game than the game itself.
I haven't really played Halo 5 and I'm not even sure why as I bought the game on disc but somehow it just didn't click with me somehow.

Halo Infinate looks amazing and as I have Gamepass Ultimate I'll get to play it and may even try Halo Online multiplayer for the first time ever but again while I'm excited for it once I have it somehow I have a feeling the game will just be kind of a "Yeah it's ok, it's more Halo" and that will sort of be it.

That sounds odd but I have a few games like that where the idea of the game is more fun than the game itself.

I'm a Halo nerd and I'm invested in the lore a lot so not only am I excited to play the game but the story will be of huge interest to me.

Just found out ResetERA have an Xbox Podcast called XboxERA on youtube. One of the guys seems to know a lot of inside info, not about what's been shown at the event (although he broke the no Initiative showing before anyone else). He said he's very excited about a game from a franchise that's 'not dead' is coming but wouldn't mention what it was cos he promised guy who told him to not leak.

He also mentioned that up until recently, a few 3rd party games would be shown and they are now not being shown, he doesn't know if there will be no 3rd party games at show but if there is, there was definitely supposed to be more. All 3 seem to be very excited about Halo Infinite also.

Here it is for anyone interested:

I’ve not played a Halo in ages (think ODST was my last one), Infinite looks and sounds very promising from what we’ve seen/heard. Really happy that nothing has really leaked yet barring Fable, which seems to be almost an open secret at this point, only a couple of days out so the wait is nearly over so fingers crossed that nothing else leaks.

Brownies made anyway, will try my hardest to leave a couple for when this is on, suppose it depends how good they are when I try one later

I loaded up Halo CE on MCC at the weekend for a quick trip down memory lane and got hooked all over again, the 60fps/4K makes the already stellar combat sooooooo satisfying.

As stated, apparently, yes, some journo's are playing Halo Infinite for past week or so and previews will drop after show. Can't see any non US journalists having any though because of how the world is.

New FIFA stuff has leaked and apparently it's being shown off same time as one of the XB shows tomorrow. (Pre-event?) I really hope this means MS got marketing deal as it means I won't have to sit through them on any future live PS events for a while :slol: If we ever get live events ever again that is

Hmmm. I think I might have to continue my Halo revisit via the MCC. Halo 3 is next. Need to finish Gears 4 first though (seriously, there are way too many games out there).

Looking forward to seeing what Microsoft have been cooking up with their new studios.

Are Fable and Rare's new game expected tomorrow?

Fable and Everwild are expected tomorrow, Fable would be more of a teaser though.

Not all studios will be there, InXile , The Initiative, Undead Labs, The Coalition and Compulsion Games won't make an appearance apparently.

I'm hoping the Fable trailer shows a snowy village like Fable 2 and Zoe Wanamaker simply says "and so the story begins..."

A few 'leakers' are saying to temper expectations as a few things have been taken out of the show that will be in August one. Could be true or false but The Initiative was heavily slated to be there and now isn't so....

A look at the Halo Infinite Campaign, Everwild and Fable will be more than enough for me tbh.

I can understand why they’d want to spread out the content to two shows, they can focus more time on each game/studio that way but I was kind of hoping that Microsoft would be going all in for this one show (and then more of a deep dive into various games over the coming months till release) as it’s probably their best chance to try and one up Sony before this generation gets going. Personally I’m hoping its false.

Still think this is going to be a great show though.

Is it first party only or could we see third party announcements too?

Only games in general have been officially confirmed but very reliable insiders say 3rd party will be there as well.

Cyberpunk will probably be shown off quite a lot as I believe Microsoft have some sort of exclusivity for advertising it or something don’t they?
