Not for me it isn’t. Well, it wasn’t when I fired it up about 1-2 weeks ago anyway! Unless I’m confusing myself with my PS4 where I also have it, but very rarely touch the PS4 these days

Mine isn't in french either and I'm playing through it now, seems to be a weird bug.

Same for me not in French either. Really looking forward to playing this and Prey as the improvements in loading times and frame rate are fantastic and a clear improvement over what you will get on the PS versions.

Ah thats good news. To clarify - the DF article indicated that you could only play Dishonored on Series X in French (But series S was ok). I had not tried it for myself. Sounds like the problem has either been resolved, or i misunderstood DF's point.

Dishonored load times are among the biggest jumps I've seen from last gen to this, loading in an area in a level is pretty much instant, it's hard to get used to.

I don't think the issue's been resolved at least for the people who have the game in french....

Having watched the DF video on the updates to Dishonored and Prey I can kind of get more understanding for why the games may not have been as well loved on console as I think they should be - those loading, framerate and input lag issues on Prey seem like they would be pretty effective at nerfing the enjoyment! None of that was a problem on PC where I played and hopefully now they've improved these Xbox versions more people will be able to see how good they are!

I played Prey on XB1 and yeah, the loading times are pretty long. I usually browsed the internet on my phone through those.

The game also had a memory leak issue on my first playthrough in the powerplant area. The framerate reduced to an intermittent 2fps per second. I think they patched it out by the time I had the second playthrough. But it was pretty shocking nonetheless.

I played it only last year on a One X and really enjoyed it. Just tried the 60fps version. It's great.

Dishonored seems good so far (a couple of hours in). Do the enemies get more challening though? I ask as i am terible at stealth, and have cocked up just about every encounter so far (trying to monitor everyones position and direction in a room when in first person is not fun, just anxiety inducing), but have simply killed all the resulting baddies that come at me with my sword. Can i cheese my way through the whole game, or does succesfully mastering the mechanics become more of a factor?

Appreciate there is a chaos rating that influences the end game etc, but i'm only on about mission 2 and i think that ship has already well and truly sailed.

Good game though and a great atmosphere. I really bounced off D2, but this makes me think i will probably revisit it somewhere down the line.

New enemy types pop up.

But I wouldn't feel bad about going High Chaos. The game is designed to be played in both ways.

The last time I played through the game, I used a mixture of both styles. That was really fun.

I genuinely believe Dishonored is one of the best games of that gen. It nailed everything. I loved the depressing mood of it, and the heart items monologues are a huge part of that.

Thanks for the reply - thats good to know.

Yeah, I have really enjoyed it so far. The movement options made available to you are really refreshing. It feels like a good balance between linear and open world design. It looks like the load times were appaling previously though, and i think that dying in the same place more than a couple of times would have drained all my enthusiasm to keep playing.

Yeah I can't emphasise enough that you shouldn't worry about chaos, so many people seem to fixate on "low chaos being the right way to give you the good ending" and things when in reality the whole point is to play your own way. Also this isn't really a spoiler: there's no good or bad ending in reality So yeah have fun killing stuff or explore the fun stealth options, it's all good!

Enemy types do get mixed up to an extent but generally they're all still easily handled by the skills you have at your disposal.

Dishonored was comfortably my favourite game of that generation.

The power that lets you see through walls is a must. Shadow Kill is also good as it disintegrates bodies if a stealth kill is performed.

I want to play Dishonored again now, goddamnit.

I played it pure stealth on my first go because that felt right to me, but in a second run I went psycho murderer. Both were great fun.

Best bit for me was stealthing around the masked ball. So tense. The Witches DLC is damn great too.

I always go stealth on a first run of these things as that's my default play style and it's a really fun challenge in itself, but there are so many options that is always encourage people to play with an open mind and explore the abilities and approaches available.

I need to go back and replay the Daud/Witches DLC for the first game, I think that's the only bit of Dishonored that I've only played through once

I never finished the Dunwall City Trials DLC. I got hacked off at the stupid shooting gallery-style trial, which was so out of keeping with everything else in the game. I should go back to it though. Maybe it will be more bearable with the FPS boost.

Having the Game Pass app on my phone means whenever anyone perks my interest in something on here then I can install it no matter what I'm doing. So there's another game on the to do list (even though I completed it on PS3).

When you use 'Dark Vision' does a voice say 'enhanced eyes'? I really hope it does.

I'm absolutely LOVING going through it again and at a silky smooth 60 with virtually no loading times it's the icing on the cake, I hope Dishonored 2 gets the same treatment.

Dishonored 2 has some serious optimisation issues at the engine level so I'm interested to see how they might be able to improve that with FPS boost.
