Worst news of E3 hands down. I'm genuinely gutted about this. :(

I don't think PGR is. It's one of the things that's always been missing. Disappointing, really. It had some great multiplayer modes.

All the fable games are and fable 2 is 4K. I’m a little gutted that enslaved isn’t X1X enhanced.

Sad that it’s the last update, but I appreciate that they need to focus on the future of BC. And very pleased about the Splinter Cells and Sphinx.

So we're still gonna get BC titles but from now on, only on Scarlett?

All the Splinter Cell games is awesome and so is Indiana Jones and the Emporer's Tomb :D

Do you often contemplate the complexity of life?

Nope, they are focusing on getting all games available on Xbox One (including BC games) working properly on Scarlett.

Yeah they're working on getting everything up and running on Scarlett now. If that goes well, hopefully they'll not stop there and make some more 360 and original Xbox games back compat for Scarlett in future.

Gutted lollipop chainsaw will seemingly never be BC now, when they read out the additions I was anxiously awaiting it only to be disappointed.

I did quite like Too Human though so having that back and free now is nice I guess.

Going back to earlier, I'm 99% sure all three Fable games are X enhanced now.

Boo, really wanted Whiplash from the original Xbox catalogue.

Still, mightily impressive work from MS and a huge boon for both X1 for Scarlett.

Disappointing news, although I guess we should be grateful for any backwards compatibility in the first place.

What I don't quite understand is as the Scarlett isn't built yet, why not just shove the components for full backwards compatibility in there from the outset, rather than having to have some kind of emulation? Component costs, I would imagine, but surely that'd be cheaper than having a team of devs working on it?

If the Scarlett is a relatively straightforward step from Xbox One - same CPU architecture, memory configuration, interfaces etc. but with bigger numbers, faster transfer rates etc. then the effort in bringing across what they have achieved to date is probably more on the testing side, the actual port shouldn't be too hard.

I imagine they will continue to expand on the list of OG and 360 games once they have got the "as-is" set working on Scarlett - they know it has been a big win for them so it's a feature they will want to continue to develop. There's a reason they went with the "if it was easy everyone would be doing it" line in that video.

Imagine if they got the ENTIRE back catalogue working in time for Scarlett’s launch. That would be quite a thing to be able to announce.

I suspect lack of Kinect will make this impossible, but all peripheral-free games would be great.

I think the success of the emulator they use is the reason, they could be doing a “Scarlett enhanced” type mode for X1 titles.

I'll not have a bad word said against Fruit Ninja Kinect!
