I'd love to do this but fearful of a banhammer...
You’ll not get banned for running a dev build of retroarch in dev mode.
I’ve gone a step further and got my account on a retroarch whitelist so it’s literally just an app I download from the store and use in normal retail mode without having to sign out or reboot or anything.
I’m currently playing through Breath of Fire IV on my Series X, and although a bit fiddly to get the right files in the right place, once it’s in place it works like a dream.
Anyway, the Series S: it’s so small. Reminds me a lot of PS2 actually. Setup was a breeze and I love how even my folders sync across. It did ask me to switch to 4K/HDR when I booted it, so I’m not sure about “it can’t output 4K”. One disappointment is the controller though, there’s a grindy feel to the left stick, while the right stick is smooth as. It’s as if there’s a bit of dirt in there. If this was my only one I’d be immediately taking it back, but I have about 8 Xbox pads in the house, including an elite, so I don’t really care enough to bother
