I've been using a 1TB external drive (USB charged) with it always being on on my Xbox's for about 8years now, it still works perfectly fine.

They do, until they fail.

To be fair if it lasted 8 years then failed I wouldn't give a monkeys if it was being used for games and such, I'd hope for longer out of a hard drive I was just using for storage of pics and pc backup stuff.

Let's review and rate the recent range of Xbox rumors: Kojima, Xbox games, Game Pass, and more

Recently, we received a large cache of information from trusted sources which hint at some of the future deals Xbox's partner publishing teams are working towards.

I recently teased the following on Twitter, using a cyclone emoji. Many took this to mean the Dreamcast logo, Sonic, or Ubisoft, but it's actually in reference to a game Microsoft is looking to publish with a prominent third-party AAA studio.

I don't want to share more details and spoil upcoming reveals for the devs or fans, but this particular one sounds extremely promising, set in what sounds like an ambitious connected world.

Microsoft isn't done there either. The above game could be revealed this year, or perhaps next year depending on how development goes. Beyond that, I've been made aware of not one, but at least three additional games being prototyped by Xbox publishing partner studios of a high caliber. None of these are the rumored game Microsoft may be working on with Kojima, either.

Many of these games may not emerge from prototyping stage, as is often the case in this industry, but each sounds impressive in its own right, crossing a diverse range of genres and settings.

During a Q&A session a while ago, Xbox lead Phil Spencer said "I hear you," when a fan called out to get Persona on Xbox. Since then, I have personally heard that Microsoft is indeed working towards achieving this goal, backed by data from the success of Yakuza hitting Game Pass.

I've certainly heard similar to Shpeshal Ed that Microsoft isn't backing down when it comes to big-name third-party day-one Xbox Game Pass titles.

Third party titles will save a lot of money for sure!

There’s a new option for the XBox All Access thing - 4Gadgets or something they’re called.

Looking forward to streaming from it in a wee while.

All Access needs to strawberry float off - release consoles to buy here and now, you corporate cowards.

I'm quite happy with it, I don't have £450 kicking about to just spend on one and I already drop a tenner a month on a game pass sub so might as well just go all in for a bit.

How much is the all access for a Series X? Know someone who got one via Game (I think) a bit back as they were also already subbed to GPU so just upgraded to a Series X. Is it loads more than buying a Series X and subbing to GPU for £11 a month? (Seems slightly unfair to use the 3 year gold to GPU trick for this) You own it after 2 years too so won’t be paying the full price for longer than 2 years right?

I believe it actually works out slightly cheaper than buying the console up-front and subbing (but not cheaper than using the Gold upgrade).

And you own the console straight away. You’re in debt to a third party for two years.

Yeah I think it was a little cheaper than buying it all at full price. I did the 3 years of GPU thing and got an All Access Series X too, you can apply the 2 years of GPU that comes with All Access up to 2 years after receiving the console.

So all access is pretty good value then, win win for Microsoft too getting people on GPU for 2 years alongside selling hardware.

I guess the problem is enticing people into debt really.

Though it feels like a reverse finance deal (unlike buying a sofa) if it actually works out cheaper in the end. Well, assuming you can keep up with repayments and not have to live in the cardboard box it comes in.

Anyhow, I've claimed, downloaded and now deleted Dark Void through Games with Gold. Really liked the atmosphere and the idea of it. But I just couldn't get on with the fiddly flying controls.

Then again, I should probably give it another shot since it seems like there is a decent game in there if I can get past my own impatience.

PREMIERES LIVE ON YOUTUBE - APRIL 29TH, 5PM PST

From the crew and studio behind ‘Double Fine Adventure’ comes a brand new feature length documentary diving into the fast-face world of game design and the fresh challenges that come with turning ideas into reality. Double Fine Productions (known for Psychonauts, Broken Age, Brütal Legend and more!) regularly take a two week break to collect their thoughts but the work doesn’t entirely stop. In a process called “Amnesia Fortnight,” anyone and everyone at the studio can pitch a game concept. The goal: turn those ideas into working prototypes. In 2019, during their work in Psychonauts 2, Double Fine held another Amnesia Fortnight. The result? New projects embodying the studio’s ethos of comedic adventures and unique games.

Split into teams and working on a tight deadline, Double Fine’s stable of artists, programmers, producers, musicians and other artists must come together and overcome technical hurdles in a game jam bonanza. What follows is madcap puppet theater, devious journeys into the underworld, a sinister puzzle game, and grand battles on the back of giant slugs as four very different games grow from concepts to prototypes. Four ideas enter and four games leave, and the entire process is outlined in this feature length documentary (by in-house crew 2 Player Productions) that pulls back the curtain on game design at one of the industry’s most well-regarded studios.

£28.99 a month on the Series X.
Can't remember the Series S price though.

Ridiculous value though in my opinion.
I've already downloaded and played £400 of games so far.
And I don't really see myself buying games now either.. not sure if that's a win for Microsoft or not really
