Could be worse. Just think of all the repeats they've had to endure in Japan, every time a mildly controversial game has to be replaced.

Those poor 14 people. :-(

I don't know anything about Celeste so will not judge it, but the other three are a big "MEH".

There is a Christmas sale on by the way, but it's pretty much the same gooseberry fool as last time.

Press here to meh.

Although it's been pretty good for me as a new XB1X owner. I picked up both Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration and The Division Season Pass, for around £20 all-in. Pretty good haul.

Do you have Game Pass? I think the membership options are all still on offer and there are some decent games available on it.

Yeah, I got my first month on Game Pass for £1 (and 1 month Xbox Gold for another £1). So I got The Division 'free' and paid another £10 for the Season Pass in the sale today. RotTR: 20 Year Celebration was another £13 or so and includes almost every piece of DLC/extra content (gotta love those Lara outfits!), so another great bargain.

Spinning Spiner is awesome but it ends fast enough if you get some decent Broadband. ;)

No, 30 minutes of waiting was long enough. I hard reset the Xbox and it works in seconds. I don't get the Xbox One.

It's annoying as strawberry float. I've had to hard reset 2-3 times before it works sometimes  it doesn't seem to happen as much as it used to though so there is that

Is this a common problem, then? I thought it was just my xbox being stupid because I've got so many things in my list :slol:

Nah it's just a case of the Xbone OS being wank even on an X. Laggy and sluggish.

Not really had that problem though but mine isn't on quick start so it's turned off fully and gets booted fresh just to stop the bullshit controller disconnections thanks to Xbones buggy bullshit.

Mine is off too but I still get it. I think it's probably more of a problem for those of us with lots of content that needs to be DRM and update checked. And possibly those of us using the internal hard disk as that's meant to be slow compared to externals via USB3.0

Yeah, mine's always turned off fully and on again every time I turn it on, and everything's saved on an external drive :slol: Still takes forever to populate the download/update lists :(

Just a question about the DVD playback on the X. Bought my new console last week and zero issues apart from a total inability for the blu ray player to play ball with any of my DVD’s. Game disc and blu ray all good but a DVD just doesn’t load and I just get the unrecognised message and error code. A glance on
One suggests this isn’t unknown and in all likelihood it’s related to one of the latest firmware updates. I really don’t want to return the thing if that’s the case and if a new one will have same issue. Can anyone else confirm if they’d had the issue and if it’s solvable at this moment in time?

Due to ever increasing costs we have ditched Virgin Media, (who refused to offer anything less than £3 off our [then] current package), and moved back to a cheaper but much slower ADSL line, (Virgin are the only fibre broadband suppliers in our area). Due to the exchange being 3 miles away we're not getting much more than 10mb per second, dropping to as little as 3mb at peak times.

The result?

Without a fast internet connection my X1S became practically redundant. All kinds of weird things started to happen like constantly reinstalling games, attempting to dowload and overwrite patches already installed, and digital titles I owned, like FH3, just wouldn't start at all. Putting the system in offline mode didn't help.

I took the console to a friends, (just to be sure), and with his faster connection everything worked fine. Speaking to Microsoft they were less than helpful. Seems Matrick's original 'always online' plans for the X1 is still very much part of the consoles DNA.

So, regrettably, I sold it on.

On the plus side it's removed several titles from my back catalogue.

Sold mine to a work colleague for £150 with 4 games and an additional controller.
