Nearing the end of Halo 3: ODST, hopefully get it finished off this evening, I have 3 missions and the epilogue left to go. Was it originally planned to be dlc for Halo 3 just out of interest? Some of the missions are quite short is all, quite enjoyable though although so far out of the games I’ve played and re-played I still think Reach takes my top spot so far, I was surprised just how good it was (although it did have one crap bit towards the end that felt a little cheap in my opinion).

Nope but it was cheaper than a full price game at the time. It was full price but it had all the DLC maps for Halo 3 included on a second disc.

Halo CE Anniversary also added maps to Reach's MP.

My kids birthday is next month and ge wants a pad from the Design Lab. Cost 70 quid as I had his Gamertag put on it. He wanted the pad in purple and the sticks pink cause pink goes with purple. Glad he gives no strawberry floats about what peeps think and just got what he likes

I think the colours were Royal Purple for the front, marine Blue for the back, Electric Green for the shoulders and bumpers, deep pink for the sticks, Retro Pink for the Dpad, white on black buttons and black on grey menu buttons.

My other kids want one each now as well. I also want one. I made one and gave it the Metroid Fusion suit colours.

The price seems quite good to me. Isn’t a bog standard pad about £55?

Maybe he's non-binary. (An analogue joke.)

I'm a boring sod who just went for what I designed last time - even bringing the controller down from my room to check I'd got the colours right. It'll be better than the white one that came with the console, at any rate.

There’s almost too many options

A Metroid inspired one sounds great Pedz!

Apparently Xbox's fastest growing market is Japan, no idea if they can maintain it but its quite surprising. The Series S is selling more due to it's price point and size plus the Japanese games on Gamepass...

Just watched the E3 release and I'm really thrilled for what's on the way through GP.

Halo Infinite looks immense. Stalker 2 as well. Great times ahead!

Don't get your hopes up too much though. There's absolutely no store presence or advertising still, and most people won't have a clue about the console. It's probably also "fastest growing" as it's easier to grow from a base of "absolutely strawberry float all" to "well we've sold [I]some[I] this time". I don't think that the standard Xbox game will interest people here and I don't think there's enough on Gamepass to tempt them - a lot of the Japanese games are older games or stuff they can get elsewhere (and on the Switch).

If I had to guess, I'd say Nintendo has about 80% of the market share, especially with the kids. The rest is probably split between phones (really popular amongst adults on the commute) and the PS4.

Home consoles are on the decline here. The PS4 didn't sell as well as the PS3 I think, and wouldn't be surprised if the PS5 hasn't made much of an impact either. I don't really think there's much space left for Microsoft to grab.

But maybe, with being able to access GP through phones and PCs as well, perhaps they don't need to sell much hardware - just entice people into the service.

I think that's why it was clever to release the odd GP thing on the Switch, like Cuphead or Ori. They might peak some people's interest in it. It was really playing Cuphead that made me wonder what else I might be missing, and start to think about an Xbox again.

Series S always seemed a decent entry console for people who aren't convinced, but might want to dip their toe into GP too. Plus it's nice and small. But sure, Xbox seems unlikely to have any great breakthrough in Japan, and fair enough if the games are too Western-centric.

I’m not a shareholder so I don’t have any hopes. Just surprised.

Been having this odd thing happen with my series X recently. Loading up games and some are doing some stuttering that never happened before. Forza Horizon 4 for example, but the weirdest thing is my pad not working in some games. It will work in one game and then I move to another and it won't do anything, I will let me press the dash button and I can move around there, but the game is a no go. I have to hard rest it and I've done it nearly every day for a week or 2.

Is it on games that are Quick Resuming? I’ve had that a couple of times, but quitting the game and restarting usually fixes it.
